I wouldn't be adverse to maybe breaking our Scottish club record paid fee for a player (Brown) but I dont know if anybody actually believes that Aberdeen turned down a 6.5 million bid for him given it was several times over their previous received record and they have a new stadium to pay for. Fair enough, and if I'm honest I really don't think that the Villa offer was for the amount quoted in a single payment. Thing is though, McKenna seems pretty level headed and doesn't give the impression that he is desperate to go just anywhere and certainly not sure that he sees his move when it comes being to another team in the same league. I was always under the belief the £6.5m bid was the total fee, after all the instalments and that, and up front it was pretty pitiful.
