Some very bitter and odd comments towards this management team - this is a management team that built on a squad at wishaw, who they left earlier this season (the squad that has just reached the semi final of the Scottish Cup).  Rumour has it that cash wasnt available to the level that they could attract players in when they first took charge.  Although i would be sure the repairs after the fire etc would have had an impact here.
It takes time to build a squad and certainly it is clear to see that wishaw had a solid base to build on when McGroarty took over and built that into the squad which they have now.  Perhaps the issue was the squad didn't have a good enough base level for them to build on (perhaps why Hogg walked?) or perhaps the lack of funds to build on what was there when he took over.

The rumour mill also suggests that McGroarty walked after comments from a committee member at Kilsyth and no I dont know what was said.  Any committee must understand that if the base line was so poor that one manager left then another manager is going to need funds and time. You dont go and take a squad to narrowly missing out on promotion from the division below you and leaving a squad who have reached the semi final of the Scottish and still in one cup and going for promotion from their league, to becoming a dud.  McGroarty is a respected young manager who plays the game right.  Given that Kilsyth were making active approaches to players two weeks ago to sign for next season from other clubs (I know this as my cousin was one of them) the comments from the committee man, must have been such a nature to force McGroarty's hand where he felt he had no option but to go.

When oh when will committees learn about making comments, make your decisions in private but you should never critcise the club, management or players in a public forum.  If the committee don't like something, sack them and move on, snide comments in a public forum does no one any favours nor indeed does it maintain any impression of professionalism.
Who said whatever comments were made, were done so in a public forum?
And to perfectly honest, if a club committee (either as an individual or collective) feel the need to intervene and/or relieve a manager/management team from their duties, then surely that's their right. Whether or not it was the right decision, time will tell but results don't lie..along with performances.
I don't think any other club would have done anything differently.
As for 'The Nauld' was George Shaw and his team not brought in as 'new blood''...but that didn't go well! C'est la vie

You didn't read well and have linked two different paragraphs that weren't linked.  The comments section made to mcgroarty didn't say that these comments were in a public forum.  The last paragraph said when oh when will committee members stop making public comments, two different references.  You will also see that I said clearly that committees should intervene if they want someone gone but not as a one man show being a sniper from the side - make a decision as a committee but not like this.

Having heard more last night about what allegedly was said then any manager going into the viperous venomous snake pit should be careful.

For example why would a committee ask McGroarty to sleep on it before confirming decision but before he had confirmed the decision had appointed a player in temporary charge and the player had sent a message to all other players advising of his temporary appointment?  Did someone from the committee leak this to the player prior to the decision being confirmed?

anyway all about opinions all about opinions

Sad to see Chris go but kilsyth have to move on and appoint someone to make sure we stay in this league.

Apprentice, why don't u say what was said? Cause if it was the same as I heard and Chris quit due to that....... Well... Its pretty petty

I've heard it all now. Snake pit !! And venomous! . Who's writhing this stuff for you !! . For 22 points at this stage of the season and relagation certainties in any other season, had it not been for reconstruction . Good young management team tha you keep keep refereing too have been afforded a free run and all on the promise of what's to come next season. Then and let's be clear they or he quit.

I would like to come on and clarify a few things as it seems to have been blown way out proportion! Chris, Glenn and myself have never once referred to Kilsyth as a viperous venomous snake pit! It actually couldn’t be further from the truth! We all had a very good working relationship with the committee and to be honest they were all very helpful to us through a difficult year for the club! Chris resigned on Monday for reasons which he thought was right for himself and as a management team Glenn and myself resigned along with him! There is no hard feelings from any of us towards Kilsyth in anyway shape or form! If anything we would like to stick on record that we wish the club all the very best in the future and with the appointment of their new manager! There is some very good people at the heart of Kilsyth and we would love to see the club do well for them!
