Bonnyton Thistle dash hopes of an Annandale derby and, in their debut season, will face Mid Annandale in the Southern Alternate Alba Cup Final. Kilmarnock side are making a mark already.

Leith Athletic prevailed 1-0 at Riccarton to reach the Alex Jack Cup Final. Their opponent will be decided next Saturday when Tynecastle host Peebles Rovers at Saughton Enclosure in other SF.

According to SOSL website the Bonnyton and Lockerbie faithful will be flocking to Galabank, Annan which hosts the final on Friday 13th October at 7:30pm.

Alex Jack Final is due Sunday 15th October.

South & East of Scotland Cup-Winners' Shield is Sunday 19th November.

After what looks like a hard-fought tie, a couple of goals for Tynecastle in the last quarter saw them prevail 4-2 over Peebles Rovers. So the Alex Jack Cup Final will be an all-Edinburgh affair - and a battle of old rivals Tynecastle and Leith. No venue seems to have been confirmed.

Tynecastle deservedly won 3-0 against Leith at a bright and blustery Pennypit this afternoon to win the Alex Jack Cup.

They'll face Bonnyton or Mid Annandale on Sunday 19th November for a place in next season's Scottish Cup.

Any idea where the final for this will be played?

Kick-off apparently delayed 15mins.

Big crowd?

According to Tynecastle's twitter it's Riccarton next Sunday, 3:15pm.

Not the indoor stadium unfortunately. Excellent artificial surface but pretty basic fans facilities e.g. cover.

Aye I seen that on the EOSL site earlier as you say not very good for spectators I was there last season for a final and unless you get a spot on the barrier its poor for viewing a game. Shame its not indoors.

Dalkeith Thistle are the next club to announce a move away from the Juniors and into the East of Scotland League.

Confirm application for a club licence - providing Scottish Cup entry - will "follow soon".

Good move for them. Would be good to see Thistle in the lowland league in the next few years.

Would absolutely love to see Hearts vs Tynecastle in the Scottish Cup next season.

Under current arrangements they'd have to get through 5 rounds so I wouldn't hold your breath  (although LTHV did it in 2014-15).

Kelty Hearts vs Dunfermline would be an absolute belter as well.

More manageable 3 rounds currently.

Bump.

Next season's dates announced:

https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/news/william-hill-scottish-cup-2018-19-dates-confirmed/?rid=2107

Same as this season except R2 & R3 move back 1 week (presumably to avoid clashing with international weekends which have themselves moved back 1 week) and the Final is a week later as no WC or Euros. Interestingly though the Semi-Finals are not a week later, leaving 5 weekends in between - which could mean the split falling the same time as this season, and there being no midweek round after the split.

Qualifiers? Comparatively few slots may be used:

Senior Qualifiers:
East of Scotland League ... Kelty Hearts won, already a licensed SFA member
South of Scotland League ... Threave Rovers won, already a licensed SFA member
South & East of Scotland Cup-Winners' Shield ... Tynecastle have qualified

Junior Qualifiers:
North Region ... Banks o'Dee won, already a licensed SFA member
East Region ... with 4 games left Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic are 4pts clear of Linlithgow Rose who are already a licensed SFA member
West Region ... with 4 games left Kilwinning Rangers are 2pts clear of Pollok (with 2 games left) and 5pts clear of Beith - but so many games remain below that anyone down to 8th could in theory prevail
Scottish Junior Cup ... Auchinleck Talbot v Hurlford Utd is on Sunday 27th May - but either could theoretically yet win West Region, indeed Hurlford are 3rd bottom but have only just passed halfway

Amateur Qualifier
Scottish Amateur Cup... Shortlees v Goldenhill is on Sunday 20th May

Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic are leaving the East Juniors for the EOS League. Therefore if they prevail will in the same way as Kelty Hearts last season actually compete in the cup as a senior club. I suppose it's also possible that if the Highland League falls to 17 members (through either Cove Rangers being promoted / Fort William resigning) a vacancy election could be held, and Banks o'Dee also enter the senior grade.

Kelty Hearts obtained their license and membership earlier in the season. Either they or Threave Rovers will be promoted to the Lowland League (which currently confers starting in R1) with Hawick and possibly Vale of Leithen/Dalbeattie Star being relegated from the Lowland League (which would currently mean the gauntlet of the Preliminary). It has been reported that 2 clubs received either their licence and/or their membership last month - with rumour that Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale were one - but the lack of announcement from the SFA, or either club, can perhaps indicate only part of the process has been completed... Usually a club had to be in membership by the end of June to be included in the draw for the Preliminary following in early July.

Fort William are considering resigning from HL to join the North Caledonian League. This would be withdrawing from the pyramid but I doubt it would affect their licence or membership.

For now Tynecastle are the only confirmed debutant. They currently share Saughton Enclosure with LTHV but are moving to Boroughmuir RFC's Meggetland Rugby Stadium.

After a heap of catch-up games Auchinleck Talbot are 3pts from title.

Let's hope Hurlford win the Junior Cup final, be nice to have both in the Scottish Cup.
