Glen's second goal was definitely in the 90th minute.

Other than that I can only say that Glen's were one up at half time and Saints went 3-1 up in the second half before Glen's fightback.

Blackburn United 1 St.Andrews Utd 2

Fairly uneventful first half which saw Danny Campbell, playing his 200th game for the club, convert a McQuillan cross at the back post to take the lead on HT. Second half Blackburn looked comfortable but were unable to grab a second and were hit with a sucker punch in the 88th and 91st minutes. Gutting in the end but that's fitba, roll on next week.

I thought our possession was excellent in the first half but we didn't have a cutting edge. We never looked like scoring in the 2nd half until the manager brought himself on with eight minutes to go.

Still four wins in a row set ourselves up nicely for our toughest test yet against Musselburgh. And not a bad start for a side who were 66-1 rank outsiders with Scotbet at the start of the season.

As for Blackburn they created nothing until the last five minutes of the first half and didn't do enough to kill the game off in the second half. Hopefully they'll learn from this and move on.

Elsewhere there were much needed wins for Glenrothes and Thornton and an impressive result for Tayport.

You're right, neither team did much for the first 42 minutes until we had a shot blocked by the keeper, then Campbell scored, followed by a McQuillan header just over and then your number 6 in first half injury time had a pop from 20 yards. Second half Campbell could and maybe should have scored on the hour mark but neither side did much else until the last 3 mins.

Didn't deserve to lose the game, couldn't have complained too much if it had ended a draw although overall I thought we shaded it. We weren't helped with one of our centre half going off injured after 15 minutes with our central midfielder having to fill in.

Roll on next week!

Well done the Hoose!

Five wins out of five, so definitely deserve to be sitting top of the league tonight. Great start after a disappointing season just passed!

Cheers Toffee! Early days re league but having surpassed last years total league points already is pleasing as is the current squad that JC has assembled.

This is a tough league and I'm sure there will be lots of surprises ahead for all teams. Looking forward to playing the Burgh however! See you behind the goals!

Go the Hoose!!

FT HADDINGTON ATHLETIC 3 (Scott Moffat 1, 43, 76) KIRRIEMUIR THISTLE 3 (Gary Archibald 64, Lee Cameron 73, Stewart Russell 87)

Kirrie made the long trip to Millfield for the first ever time yesterday and what a brilliant setup it is too, made to feel very welcome and look forward when they visit Westview.

The game started and barely a minute on the clock they're 1 up. Ball in from the left, Scott Moffat heads past our keeper. Kirrie sluggish from the off and they were passing the ball around slickly and Kirrie trying to find their feet. Thistle came more in to the game and creating some good chances however were dealt a blow 2 mins before HT when they played the ball into path of Scott Moffat who slid past Diamond for his 2nd. 2-0 down at HT away from home and with the wind against us in the second half it was always going to be tough. But the Jags were a different team and creating some brilliant chances but failing to make the most of them, but eventually on 64 mins Kirrie pulled one back, Haddington failed to clear their lines and Gary Archibald capitalised lashing home! Thistle's tails were up and it was Haddington who were on the backfoot and deservedly Lee Cameron equalises for Kirrie on 73 mins with a firmly-placed header, cross in from the left by Scott Drumm. Game On! Almost immediately after the restart Kirrie were on the attack and a great strike by Gary Archibald which was goal bound was stopped on the line by a Haddington player's hand, a clear hand ball that the referee somehow missed. Kirrie were rightly complaining but this proved costly as Haddington went up the park straight after, and after initially a good block on the line from the first strike Scott Moffatt lashed home for his hat trick. Kirrie's heads didn't go down though and we continued to press the Haddington defence and deservedly equalise on 87 mins. Stewart Russell slotting it home after a good cross by Sean McVicar. We still had chances to win it at the death but coming to these places and fighting back from 2-0 down we more than deserved the point and possibly better!

So what has happened to Tranent at the start of this season? After the way that the end of last season had finished, and being joint title favourites, it must be disappointing to already be 8 points behind the league leaders, with only 5 matches played?

They are 2 points better off than after 5 games last year.

1 goal scored less but 4 less let in.

They were 10 points behind Sauchie as well.

Ended the season 18 points behind the Champions last season.

Based on the 1st 5 games If they improve the Same Amount they will finish 2nd or 3rd....unless they self distruct

You can always rely on the stats man of the east to come up with an answer! The danger is that Tranent already have the successful management team in place from last season, so there may not be the repeat of uplift in fortunes of last season. They did finish 18 points behind the champions and 12 behind second place, but were still way behind a promotion position. Long way to go, but maybe already a step too far.
