Read the report. Whitburn had the ball, were inside the Fauldhouse half and going towards their goal when our boy sportingly put the ball out to allow treatment to your guy. Your team's response was to send the ball to our keeper and PRESS the Whitburn back four which forced the error and then led to a goal. Your team could have let Whitburn play it out of defence rather than press to allow us to at least get to halfway. Just my opinion. Wouldn't have made any difference to the final score as we were thumped by a better team.

I was there and saw nothing wrong with it, Fauldhouse played the ball back to your keeper to give you the ball back, they are hardly going to then sit off as you stroll up the park. It happened tonight in our game, ball played back to our keeper from halfway, then Bathgate press. No problem with that, as soon as the keeper has the ball "game on" and not the oppositions fault if he subsequently fcks it up.

Fully agree with Burnie man almost all teams faced with that situation would have passed the ball back to the opposition keeper. The keeper had the chance to pick the ball up or play it long either option would have meant Fauldhouse attackers would not have had a chance to press, however the keeper played it short hence why the Fauldhouse attackers pressed the defenders successfully. Nothing at all wrong in doing that!  To suggest that there was any element of poor sportsmanship involved here is very poor indeed.

Go the Hoose!

So Tayport start with a 6-2 defeat and follow it up with a 6-2 win, Haddington score 10 without reply in their first two games, Musselburgh score 6 twice in a row, only four teams unbeaten after two games.

This is shaping up to be an interesting season.

A penalty in each half settled the game, we were lacklustre and never got going, Bathgate were the better side and deserved the three points.  The referee though, Steven Wilson, was poor. Card happy and not prepared to let the game flow. A few meaty tackles as you'd expect from a local derby but too quick to pull out the cards. Got the penalties correct but he added 1 minute injury time despite a number of subs and players down for treatment second half, summed up his performance.

Good crowd, maybe around the 160 mark.

It's going to be a very long season for Blackburn if they don't improve on that performance.

To be fair you could have said the same about Bathgate after their first game. Going by last night's performance you would back Bathgate to do well. The point is its far too early to judge. The season still needs to settle down before its clear who will be in for a hard one and those looking to challenge the top three.

As usual a pretty accurate account of the game, as a neutral I also thought Bathgate were the better team however you would expect that as Blackburn have obv just jumped up a league and are trying to find their feet. I think they still need to strengthen to be more competitive but time will tell.

Apparently this was the ref's first match also at this level and he also needs to find his feet, although as you pointed out he found his cards no problem. There was abit of needle between a couple of players don't know if it was old grief between them but things were said that weren't appropriate considering the amount of youngsters that were watching.

Anyway great night for football on what has to be said was a "bowling green" of a surface.

Here we go again, a trip through to Gorebridge for us today, does time there for a few seasons.

Surely Arniston aren't that bad that you will do something stupid ,to land you in the gaol?

If it is a crap game, just leave at half time, and come down to Dalkeith to see them against Musselburgh!

Arniston Rangers 1 Blackburn United 1

Wednesday was a tale of two penalties, today was a tale of two halves. Burnie started well but it was the homesters who dominated possession in the first half with Gavin King pulling off a couple of good saves to keep the teams level at the break. Second half Burnie were a lot better on the ball and took the lead through Michael Browne, Arniston quickly equalised and it was an open game from then until the death where Arniston and then Burnie passed up great chances to win the game.

A much improved performance from Wednesday but still more to come, draw just about fair.

Musselburgh weren't as good today as the previous 2 games, but still won comfortably in the end. Average goals scored is now 5 per game instead of 6, with our 3rd goal the pick of the bunch today. Great cross/ball into the penalty area by Conor, and that man Matti getting another goal.

with Matti rightly claiming the 4th goal against Dunbar on Wednesday, how long of at least 1 goal per game is this going to continue for!

Tayport. 3.    Dunbar United.   2

Dale Reid opened scoring for Tayport after 3 mins in controversial circumstances. Chris King scored either side of half time for Dunbar to take a deserved 2-1 lead but once again some slack defending by the visitors allowed Dale Reid to equalise four mins from time and deep into injury time Jamie Mackie added the winner.

A much better performance from Dunbar who are finding life hard in the Premier League and I think any neutral might well agree that Tayport were a bit fortunate to collect all three points. A wee bit rub of the green would make all the difference !!!

One thing I was surprised and disappointed at yesterday was the poor crowd at Arniston. Midway through the first half I done a quick headcount and there was no more than 65 people watching the game, and around 20 of those were Blackburn committee and fans. What's happened to their support? always used to be healthy crowds at Newbyres when we visited.

Musselburgh played Arniston in a cup match early last season, and the same happened then. Probably around 100 fans on that occasion with majority being away fans.

Similar to our last two league games at Dunbar and Dalkeith. Not sure the crowd at either, but Musselburgh again had the majority of fans at both games.

For these two games, the recent formation of The 1934 Club has definitely been a factor here!

I'm more getting at the fact that an old established club (one of the oldest in the East Region) who are playing good football at a good level have lost a lot of support, it doesn't sound like it's a one-off either. Must be a bit of concern for them.
