Junior football, what is the future?

I'd imagine most clubs have no outgoings at this point other than water bills etc.

I'd find it awfy hard necked of any player to demand their wages during this and put their club at risk of going out of business. Most will only receive expenses aswell which will involve zero outlay.

I'd hope every club will survive and any debtors would be understanding of the current predicament.

New name, Terry, but still same bitterness.
Embrace the new dawn, Burnie.
Holding grudges only holds you back.

Lowland Team is another one that fits his MO and whatever happened to Hamish_the_Goalie and Jason King? Good to see that a sensible compromise was reached and there will probably be no ongoing split unlike in the east. The junior cup is a competition that was worth trying to salvage in some way, but otherwise it looks like the LL/EoS have got everything they wanted, so most people should be happy.

If there is a national trophy for tier 5 and below you can get the "trophy" or "vase" names tae buggery. Bad enough we aped the English league names for the SPFL.

Scottish Quaich, Joug or Mutchkin please

Carafe.  The Scottish Carafe.  Exotic.

Bin both SJC And SCC and stick their trophies in the museum at Hampden. Make a new cup for every team tier 5 down with a new trophy. No Senior no Junior just football teams.

Make lots of noise about it and get some serious sponsorship behind it. With prize money and tv coverage. I'm in.

If you're trying to say those are Burnie due to sharing similar thoughts. I've never see Burnie take a prolonged absence like he has the past few days during any other pyramid developments.

Don't see why he'd create a second account and keep posting while his main is silent.

Plus Burnie has been quite happy to put his name to his own opinions.

Yes, it was agreed in principle at the SJFA Management meeting last week, however it is the clubs who ultimately will have the final say at the AGM or an EGM.

Remember that there are 70 junior teams outwith the West Region and only 63 teams in the West Region, so if the non-West teams don't vote for the changes then the idea would be scuppered. I do expect the changes to be approved, though.

Wont be 70 for long...down to at least 62 now !

The lowland league and the east of Scotland only ever wanted a balance in the west, which is what has happened.the cups which people keep banging on about are staying for both or all!! again its choice by each and every club.oh and lurker am certainly not burnie man.

Sweet baby Jesus, that is yet another carcrash Record article, which may as well have been written by TAJ. Fraser Wilson has to be their dumbest "journalist" yet -

Kilwinning Rangers and Clydebank threatened to move to a breakaway set-up if no resolution could be found.

Is there anyone man/mad enough to try and make these people understand that it is the "breakaway" league they're moving to? Still, the pretence that this whole exercise (from the WRJFA's POV) isn't and always has been about "saving the juniors" has well and truly been removed now, gosh what a surprise.

This has got to be the strangest breakaway league ever - when the League they are supposedly breaking away from is recommending clubs apply to it.

The ironic thing is that, at the West Region SJFA "extra General Meeting", it was emphasised how important it was to save the SJFA, and several speakers spoke about how great an organisation the West Region SJFA is.

Two weeks on from that meeting, we had the West Region SJFA management team phoning round all the clubs to make sure they understand the statement that had just been released, and claims of "all 63 clubs wanted in to the pyramid" which, if true, would effectively end the West Region SJFA's existence.

The LL/EoSFL/SoSFL alliance got exactly what they wanted, they didn't back down on anything and they got everything. It wasn't a concession by them to allow the teams to retain SJFA membership, they didn't ask any team to leave the SJFA and made that clear right at the start of the information meeting. All of the concessions came from the juniors end, as allowing SJFA membership without playing in a regional league is a matter for the SJFA clubs to decide.

Not necessarily the clubs. The rules say "The Committee of the Association shall have the power toadd to these Rules and Cup Competition Rules as they from timeto time may deem expedient, provided they do not annul orconflict with any rule adopted at the Annual General Meeting"

Fair enough, but the point remains that allowing the teams to retain SJFA membership without playing in one of their regional leagues is a concession made by the SJFA.

The LL/EoSFL/SoSFL alliance got exactly what they wanted. They will not bat an eyelid whether teams choose to play in the Scottish Junior Cup or not. This was not a compromise.

"Everybody wanted pyramid" eh ? Really ?

I think we all know that's just utter nonsense.

Who didn't?

By omission, surely the 16-17 who didn't send in and expression of interest?

Taking no positive action on a proposal is certainly a novel way of showing enthusiasm for it.

Happy for you to believe that spin if it suits you.
The WRSJFA also got exactly what it wanted, ALL clubs in together. SJFA membership for those that want it and entry to the Scottish Junior Cup again for those that want to participate in it. The fact that they are advocating that their own positions disappear shows how much it means to them.
