There's no telling yet when football will be able to resume, whether some or all of the suspended competitions will be completed first, or whether a short transitional part-season or extended season-and-a-bit would be the preferred way to get things back on schedule. I believe the optimum league size is 16 teams so a 30 game season Only 2 teams across all the leagues are likely to play 8 games in the South Challenge Cup so for most it’s not going to add greatly to their season. The West of Scotland Cup isn’t a thing yet and even if it is to become a thing it would run along side existing League Cup competitions in the other leagues. As for the SJ Cup all Junior clubs not eligible to play in the Scottish Cup go straight in at round 1 with the rounds for both comps run in parallel. You're right. Merge them into one big cup, drop the words "South" and "Challenge" from one cup and drop "Junior" from the other. Use the current Junior trophy and everyone is happy. No? Cameron Wilson Posted March 25, 2020 Share Posted March 25, 2020 If all or most of the west juniors join the WSOL, including presumably Bonyton and perhaps a couple of other SOS teams, any mileage in merging the SOS with the WSOL? Now would be the time to do it. If enough teams join It may be desirable to make WSOL bottom tiers regional, and that is where most SOS teams would end up anyway.
