Think every team getting pissed of with the stupid rule when it's obvious pitches won't be playable teams are now standing up to the antiquated rules and officials that run the west. After discussions with other reps, it is now likely we will throw our hat in to the ring and express an interest to join. Abbey Vale and Creetown are looking to obtain a license soon too. Cup competitions get more variety. A league with clubs at different capabilities can go up and down the divisions to find their level. There's been a bit of a debate with many saying that the SOS is a lower standard even to the West region juniors thus if the WOS starts many think the SOS should be at tier 7, meaning it will be a feeder for the new WOS. I've been thinking of it and to be honest whatever how many divisions are in tier 6 there will always be a stronger league than another so I'm happy to keep it the way it is and if teams leaves its only really due to they want in the league where there might be more crowds and exposure and to reap more money, personally, nothing wrong with that as long as they are in the defined areas of the association and new association 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I thought the idea of a WoSFL was to fill a gap to give clubs access to the pyramid who AREN'T being catered for by the SoSFL So more importantly what's the LL's & EoSL's take on whether ANY applicant clubs get priority treatment? And if "Geographical Integrity" is an issue what ARE the geographical parameters that apply? For the South clubs that just want local football it won't.To expand on the growth point D&G is pretty much the only area outside of the Highlands to not have a Saturday Amateur League (two clubs from the eastern periphery of the area from Langholm & Canobie play in the Border's ammies) since the Dumfries & District League folded in 2014. Following it's folding Upper Annandale, Lochmaben & Lochar Thistle joined the SOSL as did recently folded Dumfries YMCA. Other current SOSL clubs played in the past before going senior. D&G only has a Sunday league now & it's unlikely any of them would make the switch.I've looked at over the border in Cumbria & was unable to find anywhere north of Carlisle with a team as it's all small hamlets & villages.Tl;dr theres no real pool of teams for the SOSL to draw from. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
