Think the result for Talbot today should put this thread to bed. Junior football, especially in the west is thriving. We can all hope to get near the talbots status within our game, which makes for a healthy and competitive group of teams with hungry committee and supporters desperate to take part in what we witnessed today.  #naejuniorsnaepoint

So Junior football will give-up its spot in the Senior Scottish then? dear me.   Superb result for Talbot but c'mom.

Update from the most recent PWG. Two others have echoed hearing the same

Heard that the last PWG meeting on 7th January resulted in next to no progress, and disagreements were aired (no idea what).  Rules and regs far from being integrated, and still no plan on the table, let alone any sort of agreement to involve the SJFA in the LL play-offs.  Sounds like 50/50 whether there will be any Juniors in the Pyramid at all next season.

Talbot are an exception to the rule. Over half the season played and they've only lost two matches, one of which was in the group stages of a competition they ended up winning anyway.

They shouldn't be taken as an example of the health of the junior game. Even in the same league we have a club whose financial dealings with organised crime are casting doubt on their future, and another club who are having to move to a sports club next season in order to survive.

The Juniors is great for Talbot as they can have their cake and eat it!

They get cash every year from the big Scottish which keeps them ahead of everyone else so they win the league or cup every season and so it continues.

For everyone else it’s not a level playing field. The sooner there’s a LL2 or a seperate WoS senior league the better imo.

Either that or get the West Juniors into the pyramid and take away Scottish Cup entry for non licensed clubs.

Hmm?

Very much agreed with the general posts by the way - saying Talbot's (excellent) result is proof positive of the state of junior fitba is heads in sand.

Talbot built their club up and we'll deserve everything they have won .the petty jealousy of some of our fans is pathetic.

Built up off the back of senior Scottish Cup money! How much did they make from the Hearts game?

Not jealous of them one bit, they are totally unambitious and should be made to choose between progression and cash. Not get both.

Look i really dont like Talbot, some of the guys are alright like shanner, but on the whole really don’t, but ultimately they play at the highest level available to them so they can’t really be criticised for that. They aren’t the exact model of club i’d like us to be, however they could be an ideal standard for other clubs and fair play to them for it.

Talbot dominated the juniors long before they got into the Scottish cup  and if they are so unambitious how come they keep winning so many trophies? We have not won anything outside the central region since our return to the juniors so much for our ambition.

Were not in the Scottish Cup every year as we don't win the Junior Cup or league every year. Our supporters are very generous and our fund raising is second to none.

The scaremongering continues.
no scaremongering. The EOS documentation posted clearly shows the 'juniors at tier 6' as fact is an unfounded claim off the back of an email from October. Theres roughly two PWG meetings before the EOS 31st March deadline. If no or little progress has been made in the PWG meetings before (4 or 5) I don't foresee it getting sorted in the next two.

It doesn’t quite say that.

It says it could be passed at an SFA board meeting.

No scaremongering, certain clubs have been discussing with each other the setting up of a senior WoS league outside the purview of the SJFA owing to the failures they see coming from the leadership of their governing body.

Yet they are still crying about how the SPFL won’t open up to them , oh the irony

Don't think that's the case. The EoS are saying that they have a veto on any change because any change on pro/rel related to the Lowland League has to be agreed unanimously by all the parties that are already in the pyramid that are directly affected (i.e. LL, EoS and SoS). The EoS are saying that they would decide on any proposal on this either through their board or at their AGM but either way member clubs would be consulted.
