Junior football, what is the future?

Making league 1 & 2 regional would be shite. The current setup means up to 40% of the league can change if you had two regional leagues feeding into the Championship then there is no way there would be as much movement in the league. Would be beyond tedious to end up playing the same teams season after season.

For most of the central belt clubs it wouldn't make a huge difference anyway for a club in league 1 you would be replacing Cove and Peterhead with Annan and Stranraer.

Even the outlying clubs don’t have a huge amount of difference. @HibeeJibee worked out Berwick s travel a few years ago(back when they were in the big leagues :) ) and the difference was negligible.  The biggest journeys only happen a few times a season.  The rest are just journeys to different parts of the central belt.  Elgin are really not going care if it’s a 3 our trip to methil or 3 1/2 to coatbridge.

Just as its the most active thread in the Junior section this seems like a decent place to get an answer.

Having a quick look around Armadale got their floodlights back in the 50s. Non-League Scotland doesn't credit the club with floodlights http://nonleaguescotland.org.uk/armadale.htm

When did the old halogen floodlights fall into disuse? Cheers!

No wonder NLS says no lights, as unless they've put up more poles or columns recently then it seems like it's just a couple beside their enclosure - no planning permission for anything bigger either.

Well going by the tweet it says first 2 sections. So i'm assuming there's more.

How many more defections will it take for the East league to crumble... 3? 4?

The Southern section is down to 13. Livingston United have let it be known they're applying for 2021-22 having missed this year's deadline. So that's them down to 12.

I think it's already done. It just has to play itself out.

So if say Livi Utd and say 3 others (& Tayside look North) then it’s done.

Sorry for being downbeat, aren't the floodlight stanchions a bit low down ? Maybe you can alter the height afterwards, the LED will be an improvement I would guess.

They're going to lower the park.

Must confess I've seen bits of pass and move in a few games,  and a few players who shouldn't have tried to do it ! Saw an excellent game at Holm Park : scottish amateurs v  central, impressed by the standard and attitude on show. Can't wait to get back to Scotland, see a few more games, visit some new grounds.

Maybe that's the reason then, up to 30 spread about the ground. Thought that had been changed - ps step 7 is County League level downwards I think.  Looking at the Arsenal fans in a pub, looks as if it's all back to normal down south.
Played Brislington tonight (western prem). Had to be behind closed doors.

How did things go with the players etc, all turn up in single cars, no showers - was that at Ironmould Lane ? Guessing you didn't use the clubhouse after ? All interesting stuff to get things going somehow.
