Given the spfl has come to agreement with their commercial/tv partners with regards to their inability to complete their obligations, you would hope an agreement could be made with HL/LL on this. IMO play-offs are too impractical at this stage but a fair compromise that instead of having a play-off in 19/20 and another in 20/21(which is currently about 0.5 chance of promotion each season for the HL/LL winners) and instead change that to automatic promotion/relegation for 20/21. 4 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Totally bamboozled with that unless its aimed at certain individuals that I don't know about Dunipace made it clear in the past that they wanted to progress and have continued to do so. Build up the youth section, do the grounds up, attract new fans possibly, just give clubs a chance eh. That'll be the third ex Junior team to enter the LL. By 2030 the LL will be an ex Junior playground. The three associations, i.e. SHFL, NCFA and NRJFA, are currently reviewing a draft set of rules. It is still the aim of the working group to have it in place for 2020-21. The WoSFL had to have all of its rules and structure approved several weeks ago to enable it to go to the SFA AGM for ratification. Sounds logical but I wonder why the North Juniors would hold back from switching to Senior status. Also this seems to have been under peaceful, constructive, discussion since last autumn or so, meaning that there has been plenty of time to sort out everything that's needed for a departure from the Juniors. There isn't the same conflict in the North that there is in the South. Junior Cup has already been amended to fit within the Senior calendar. There's no cup competition like the South Challenge Cup that requires their participation. They'd gain access to SFA licencing to make this work. Majority of North Juniors would probably roll out the red carpet for Banks O'Dee to get them into the Highland League, so they stop hoovering up titles. The issue isn't from the North Region. It would have been a Highland League side(s) not wanting to get relegated into a Junior League that could have been the problem. That doesn't seem to be the case though. Of the 17 in the league 4 came from the Juniors (Inverurie, Strathspey, Formartine, and Turriff).
