In addition confirmation is awaited from the following 2 clubs:

- Glasgow University (Caledonian League Premier Division)
- Bonnyton Thistle (South of Scotland League)

A constitution of 66 clubs divided into 4 conferences is now awaited with anticipation.

Thanks Pyramidic :  "Confirmation awaited from the following 2 Amateur clubs",

Bonnyton Thistle are current members of the South of Scotland League, and as such will need to resign from it, if they join the WoSFL. This won't be confirmed until the new  West league's AGM has confirmed the new structure and membership

Glasgow University does not need to make any announcement at this stage, as it isn't a 'community club' , and its fan base is usually its students (who, by the way, are not currently in residence) .  However, is it likely that GUFC  will risk losing its 50+ years  SFA full Membership & Licence, by not joining a senior pyramid league, now there will be one in the West ?

Regarding the other two Amateur clubs which have bee mentioned (several times)  on here, Oban Saints and Strathclyde University, I am of the view that (sadly) neither have applied yet, with only 3 days left.   Of course, I may be wrong.

It is literally the case, no exaggeration, that Gordon Smith understands lower and non-league football less than every single regular poster on this thread.

GordonS eh... 🤔

Don’t be so hard on yourself mate. I think you’re a quite a knowledgeable  poster!

"Aye I love the Junior Cup - good to see youngsters get a chance!"

The name is part of the issue.

Loved the grade when it was good. Always disliked the name too.

Yup. I've been to Celtic and Rangers reserve games with crowds in double figures - probably a majority were family of players, and a good number were scouts. OK, they were on midweek afternoons, but for clubs that average upwards of 50,000 for first team home games it's a clear sign of disinterest.

Changed days from the 80’s/90’s when Celtic/Rangers reserve games were played at places like Linlithgow and Bathgate and regularly attract pretty big crowds because they’d be likely to feature guys who were household names but perhaps returning from injury or out of first team favour.
Kind of like Junior football actually, ‘Reserve’ league football just reached the end of its days and it’s not like the big clubs take it on the road now either.

How can they be grandstanding ?

You haven't built them a stand yet.

Well played, Yoker Athletic !!

Erm,...I don't really mean it...C'mon Yoker before the Bankies all Wet, Wet, Wet, themselves.

That's the spirit...good lad.

On another tangent, since P&B seems to have reverted to being two massive threads (thanks to Bat-Man and this virus thing) is Fonzie OK ?

He is nuts, but we're worried about him...is he still OK ?

Fonzie (hope you don’t mind me saying this F) was never ok, he’s still not ok, but that’s ok if you know what I mean. I fully expect him to be a stalwart of the WoSL thread.

Well,...that's OK by me then !

I just wanted to make sure he was still with us.

We don't need him to be on an interwebby forum type thing...we just need him to be spouting his pish at the fitba.

Fingers crossed that you young yins & us auld cuntos get to pointlessly argue about it again.

Again people are going on about colts and reserves.there is no chance of these teams joining the pyramid setup.and yes caledonian colts.stirling uni will be highlighted.lets take the uni first.since they never resigned from the eos once they were accepted into the lowland league,it was just a complete over sight given that the eos were reduced to 11 clubs.sos had done exactly same to boost numbers.if any of them ever win their respective leagues, one team from each would cease to be.as the rules state no club can have two teams in the same league even by name change.they will only become a problem as to blocking a liecenced club who finishes second. colts teams even the spfl dont want colts teams playing in the pyramid.its not rangers wish it was Motherwell hearts and Aberdeen who were trying to facilitate this but the spfl clubs voted it down.the same way they have always overwhelmingly voted for rainy tuesday nights in Elgin.

We need a team from Tiree in the league.

High number of sunshine hours.

Sunny Tuesday nights in Tiree ?

Like Stranraer reserves did a wee while back.

Rules should state that the team finishing second gets into the play off instead.

Team that finished second didn't have a licence either.

Edit: the highest licenced side in 2018-19 finished 9th.

Bonnyton aren't amateur. I'm not sure why you stuck that in there. Especially as pyramidic just left it as 2 clubs.

Fair point about "amateur" status.   At the moment they are still an existing "senior" club in the SoSL .
