Pyramidic
Just now, Pyramidic said: Quote Club Statement – WOSFL April 3, 2020 St Anthony’s FC has reached one of its most difficult and important decisions in its 118 year old history as a Junior club. We have now officially applied for membership of the new West of Scotland Football League. This move will allow us to take our place in the Scottish Football Pyramid. We take this opportunity in the knowledge that we can keep our SJFA membership and compete next year in one of the most prestigious trophies in Scottish Football, The Scottish Junior Cup. Having made our decision, We can now look forward to a new chapter in the clubs history with excitement and anticipation of what lies ahead for St Anthony’s as a senior club, proud of its junior history and its remaining membership of the SJFA, Reaching club licensing will be a priority, which would allow us to compete in another famous old trophy, The Scottish Cup. Thank You MON THE ANTS
Ivo den Bieman
Surely now is the time (see multiple Daily Record articles written on slow news days during the Glasgow Fair, featuring over 60s celebrities or moneyed Yankee exiles "originally from Cathcart") for Third Lanark to step forward and claim their rightful heritage as part of the senior set up? Surely rebuilding Cathkin and bringing the old club back wasn't all attention-seeking bullshit?

It was just a public park and now fully enclosed / 3 / floodlights with a wee bit of cover too. Too right. I was there for Linlithgow Rose's first ever Scottish Cup tie. All they had was a grass park and changing rooms - they had to put up temporary fencing and a gazebo to keep the rain off the SFA dignitaries, including Gordon Smith. A very different place today.

Do you honestly think a fecking grade, (junior) is going to stay the way it was for another 100 years. I've stated I don't want to see any team fold but if a team does, its because of BACKWARD, STAGNENT thinking of guys like this. Le Tout P'ti FC
Wondering whether Carluke, Lanark and Lesmahagow are thinking of joining the West Lothian rump. Not much of a distance to travel. Would be a bit of a shame if they don't join the WOSL but I suppose they have an alternative option. EDIT: Thorniewood and St Roch's are hardly a huge distance from say Whitburn either.

For some that's tier 8, for others that's the top of the Premiership. With such logic, we might as well limit the pyramid to only full-time clubs, as none of the others have a realistic chance to reach the Premiership. Or take it even further, you might as well have a separate league of Celtic and Rangers only as they are the only ones who can realistically win the title so they might as well only play each other. Then again, plenty of non-OF football fans in Scotland would be quite happy with the latter option!
patriot1
The statements coming from the likes of Royal Albert don't give any indication of a new league with the West Lothian clubs having been considered.

I wish the team, chairman and committee and fans well in their new venture and truly hope it works out for them In fairness I do think they have some vision. They had finished bottom of the Central Second a few times in the last decade, most recently in 2016. They would go on to win the last Central Second and were able to finish 10th in the West League One. This season they would of been relegated to League Two, but still there has been a recent turnaround. They're just a bit blinkered in other aspects.

Pyramidic
Daily Record update: Coronavirus Scotland: Manager calls for season to be scrapped despite his side being top of league Quote A football manager has called for the season to be scrapped – despite his team being at the top of the league. Darvel Juniors boss Michael Kennedy says the season should be declared null and void due to the new West of Scotland League which will kick-off next season. It looks likely that all Junior teams will join the new league. Darvel and Hurlford United, along with the likes of Auchinleck Talbot, Kilwinning Rangers, Troon and Beith, have already applied to join. And with conferences due to be set up with geography in mind, Kennedy admits that final league positions probably won’t matter going into the pyramid. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/ayrshire/coronavirus-scotland-manager-calls-season-21806002
