Which is why days passed before anyone knew who all the successful applicants were. Not everyone is going to make this decision in the same way. Some would hold meetings, votes, just done by committee. When there was then the scramble over the 2018 EoSFL deadline extension there were public meetings arranged but most of them were announced weeks in advance to ensure maximum attendance. I don't recall hearing too many meeting announcements by West Region clubs. Irvine Meadow is one that comes to mind. Certainly in the single digits compared to the 63 members of the region. Knowing that there was going to be an information meeting in early March and March 31st was the end of the deadline. You would of thought quite a few would of been arranged quite some time ago and now would be in the process of being cancelled or having alternative arrangements being made. glensmad Posted March 20, 2020 Share Posted March 20, 2020 At Glencairn we saw the potential of tight timescales coming close to the decision deadline. We held our AGM at the start of February and, at that meeting, the decision making power for this decision was formally passed to the committee without the need for ratification by the members. The thinking behind that was that the committee as a smaller group of people would be able to react quickly to any changing circumstances at short notice, without having to call an EGM.We didn't foresee the way things have worked out with the Coronavirus issue, but the reason we did it was to cover any possible late complication. It worked out well for us.How other clubs make their decisions prior to the 31st, if indeed there is a decision that they need to make, will be a matter for individual club constitutions. If they have been sleep-walking into this situation then some may miss out through the current unfortunate circumstances. There’s a small amount of funding that clubs currently won’t be able to access outside the pyramid but any club at semi pro level who isn’t actively working towards licensing is incredibly out of touch. The thing is, there would be very little work required to meet the criteria for almost all of the clubs, and no work for some. Most junior grounds already meet all of the criteria, and those who don't would be given an agreed period of grace to get the non-conformances sorted, while still being granted entry to the WoSFL.That was all made crystal clear at last Thursday's meeting, once again blowing away another myth that the clubs were told two days previously. 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Truth is often stranger than fiction. If both parties were fully transparent for benefit of supporters (published minutes for example) there'd be less of this guff though.
