Junior football, what is the future?

one main problem however. is in the event of not all clubs moving to the new wosfl. gordon ronney has not told us what will happen to them.which is a big concern for these club's and for us.surely he will not abandon them. some clubs fear they are not in a position to move.they should put in a application they can always withdraw it later.was told he said you take the 63 clubs but we want the Scottish junior cup.

Can anyone explain to me how Gordon Ronney ( or anyone most likely) can negotiate on behalf of the Junior Cup as a competition? Fair enough if there weren’t any non WRSJFA participants in the trophy ( west of Scotland cup for example), but this isn’t the case.

Or alternatively the LL crack on with their own wosfl, get applications in and assess what they have. Leaving all wrsjfa clubs an opportunity to either join the pyramid or remain junior. No one included that doesnt wish to be.

This, with a caveat. IF all 63 apply and want in, the junior cup survives

And I say that from the point of view that without that happening there will still be teams operating in leagues under the junior fa banner in all parts of the country.

No caveat required. The junior cup is irrelevant in this whole debacle, it's now become an add on for some reason.... and has magically formed part of the conditions the wrsjfa have put across as their stance for joining the pyramid. Remove the conditions and form a new league by application.

If clubs apply for the wosfl they are applying to be part of the pyramid, to play in all league and cup competitions contained therein. Not to continue to play in another associations semi national cup.

The sjfa should have no part in running anything in the pyramid. A new start, new wosfl with a newly elected management committee to take things forward, not live consistently in the shadow of the past.

Dunno what will happen to clubs not moving but Ladeside committee ( including Ronney ) and supporters expressed their desire to join the pyramid.

The Junior Cup is surely only a token gesture to retain something of the juniors 134 year history.

So if the PWG talks break down on Monday will Kilbirnie be putting in an application ?

Who knows am no privy to inner dealings but Ronney and committee in tandem declared at the meeting they were pro pyramid. If Ronney can't get his plan to work then aye Ladeside supporters expect we will put in an application. Ronney is running around wearing two hats at the moment ( that is up to him ) but his primary concern is Ladeside and a fully expect and in fact know that he will always do what is best for the club.

Won't he do what he thinks is best for the club? it's not the same thing.

The reason a West Region meeting was called on Tuesday 24 March was to provide face to face feedback to the Clubs following the further PWG discussions due to be held the previous day. However due to the present coronavirus situation regarding gatherings etc it was felt prudent to cancel the meeting and the Region's Clubs will now be updated at the earliest opportunity on Tuesday 24th by other means. It was considered essential that the Clubs had to have any such information from the PWG discussions made available to them before proceeding further otherwise the Region was failing in it's duties to the Clubs.

Was told kilbirnie were one of the 15 applicants who have submitted the form after last Thursday's face to face meeting with the LL.it really doesn't matter whats said on monday they will push on trying to fom the wosfl.that was our mandate to the LL board.form a west of Scotland league.without the wjfa.or sjfa interference totally separate board to run it.

I fully agree.

My concern is that the WRJFA will incorrectly state that all the West juniors now agree to join the senior WoSL on "all in" basis, in a further attempt at muddying the waters, to delay (prevent ?) its creation, as an independent league within the pyramid .   Where does the SFA stand, in relation to this ?

I hope you're right about the figure of 15 but if the LL were planning on pushing ahead then why bother agreeing to the PWG meeting.

What's the "common ground"? That's the question.

Its Gordon Rooney who asked for the meeting i believe.think sos eos &Ll are going to tell him they will be outside the pyramid if clubs dont apply most importantly whats his plans for any clubs who wish to remain junior they must be accommodated its a choice by the clubs he needs to give them truthful information.

The clubs have for a confidential approach which is their choice.but there's no surprise's in the mix. Mr ronney must now give clear advice to all clubs from the west region where they stand, its down to him now.he started this crusade with all in and we will keep the Scottish junior cup.his stance only effects the west region clubs who deserve the truth.the LL have nothing to loose. all they've tried to do is fill the void in the west.which would certainly help movement in the north.
