For me it's always been a case of the more public applications there are the better. Now people can say the West Premiership is down 3 teams. That's potentially going to get worse as the status quo no longer exists.

I'd say its even more important now if there are some clubs sitting back saying 'we don't need to apply its going to get sorted by someone else' Only for the all in approach not to happen for whatever reason and having to pull together a last minute decision.

Clubs will now realise only one League will have Pyramid access. They'll be hoping things are clarified at Monday's meeting regarding applications. If not, there will be a flood of applications on the 24th.

Actually ... re-structure isn`t out of the question ( given that the season cannot be finished and legal action is threatened) so the best option is to have promotions only ... Premier goes up to 14 ... other divisions go up to 14, or more if they let clubs up from Lowland ( which they should be demanding right now ... where are their balls ?) . Instead of everyone dancing to the sad old tune of SFA-SPFL ( now including Highland, Lowland, EoS and South) .. maybe they should be asking the government to intervene and give us a REAL system for a change. But where are their balls and their brains ?

If you weren't so constantly aggressive in your tone then perhaps your suggestions and opinions would carry more influence, as they are clearly based on a lot of thought and you are clearly an intelligent and articulate man. Just saying.

One way round the games in hand/imbalance in home and away games issue is average points per game.
Its only going to affect things anyway if a decision has to be made on promotion/relegation places.
Otherwise, they move in masse in current divisions with no promotion/ relegation applied at the end if this season, ie ,effectively now.

The only thing with points per game is that some teams will have a higher points per game total having not played games against top of the table sides and some with a lower total will have played all the teams from the top. Fairest thing is to scrap the season and either finish it when we return or write it off completely.

Fair point, hadnt though of the 'vs top clubs' part of things.

Think the government has more pressing concerns than restructuring Scottish football plus it has nothing to do with the government anyway.

Think of all the club's that will go bust. Clyde can have their pick if grounds to relocate to.

On the one hand you are directly implying that the clubs which stayed in the East Region Juniors' leagues, (such as the 22 south of Tay Bridge Juniors which are in the EoS area) are smaller and weaker and would not survive! Then you say that "Nobody's going to stay in a WRSJFA" so any current west Juniors choosing to stay in the WRSJFA leagues are as bad as Tayport, Scone Thistle, Whitburn, Armadale, Bathgate, Livingston, Fauldhouse, West Calder, Pumpherston, Harthill, Stoneyburn, etc.

They have responsibilities to themselves first of all and to their futures. They will make up their own minds. It isn't for the SJFA or any of the Junior Regions to dictate to these clubs.

What is it that makes you have such disregard for  current Junior clubs which have chosen to stick with the Juniors and may yet stay in the Junior Leagues for next season?

This^

Do you HONESTLY think that the non old firm SPL teams are going to let in another 2 to join them at the trough?

There are plans being discussed to potentially expand below the prem- each of the leagues being 12 teams so 6 new clubs joining.

Its not enough, playing the same teams over and over makes Scottish league footall stale. Two leagues of 18 playing home and away, 3 promoted/relegated and 4th bottom/top play off, then lowland and highland at teir 3 also extended to 18 teams.

Lowland: Scottish Cup, SCC, LL cup (+some other regional cups depending on members. Qualifying Cup, Southern Counties, Fife FA. Also top 4 compete in SPFL Challenge Cup and League champion/relegated Club 42 enter SPFL League Cup)

EoS: Scottish Cup for licence holders/Alex Jack Cup for unlicenced, SCC, Qualifying Cup (some qualify to the City Cup), League Cup, non-Premier  teams in the King Cup. (+ for some Fife Cup.

SoS: Scottish Cup for licence holders/ Alba Cup for unlicenced. SCC, Southern Counties, League Cup, then there's Potts, Tweedie & Cree lodge cups but aren't contested every year necessarily.

Highland: Scottish Cup, League Cup then the North of Scotland Cup for those North of Scotland and the Aberdeenshire Cup & Aberdeenshire Shield for those in the Grampian area.

Far too many cups !

That starts off reasonably before rapidly descending into a chaotic ramble.
