I’d be in favour of opening up the Scottish Challenge cup to more non SPFL teams instead of Colts and teams outside Scotland. Perhaps as you suggest make it League 1 downwards. Making it basically a Semi Pro cup. Standard is dire with clubs getting to latter stages that would have been nowhere near <2017. In the 10 seasons prior to last season, the east appeared in 4 finals and won 1. In the previous 10 there were 7 wins and not one final that didn't contain an east team.
