Junior football, what is the future?

Should be an interesting few weeks coming up, what’s the SJFAs next move can’t see TJ sitting back while the big players of the West Juniors trickle over to a WOSFL but does he have any cards left? I expect a handful to come out publicly, a call by some for Junior solidarity and a small minority hurling insults at the teams leaving. Come April we’ll have a WOSFL of 10+ clubs with several following the next season. Personally I like a WOSFL and West Junior league as like the East it gives teams a choice and no one is forced either way.

I know we haven't established criteria yet, but what kind of facilities do they have?

Most of them are playing out of Council / School 3G type facilities so might be a struggle to meet ground criteria (depending how low the bar is set).

Strathaven's setup looks pretty decent. Shared with a Rugby Club but that shouldn't be an issue as such.

63 clubs only 15 of them play Talbot

As I said before Talbot aren't led by others. Talbot will decide what's right by themselves. Back to the circus

Everyone will put an application in, keeping their options open. There might be the odd radge loyalist club that doesn’t, but they won’t want to be left behind on 31st March.

This is going to play out exactly as it did in the East.
Trickle become a flood and some former big names get left behind in a league of terrible quality.
Move or watch your club wither, it's that stark a choice.

As someone who knows virtually nothing about junior football, which big names got left behind last time?

Most of the details are quoted from the Juniors Centenary History . If you go to notes 11 and 12 It gives league tables from the leagues that went intermediate.

From John Aitken's West juniors handbook... all the grade traitors in full.

The whole point of the pyramid is that its the stages of senior league progression, you can’t be ‘junior’ in a senior pyramid. It looks like Ladeside won’t go for it and that’s a real shame as they are a cracking outfit. Just wonder which other clubs will stay??

According to their facebook page they have still to have a meeting to discuss it ??
