Junior football, what is the future?

Definitely against any sort of pyramid entry. If Talbot are interest in this they will regret it. Joining the pyramid will mean any Junior club will lose their magic; what makes them tic, they will just become another run of the mill Scottish side. The Junior game should not be included in any such promotion system

If you want to test yourself; continue to compete in the Scottish Cup

Think that may become more difficult in future. Talbot have perhaps been the clearest to say they wish to remain junior and are a junior club. However if almost everyone leaves then what would your club do?

So the 28 Junior clubs who have turned senior and joined the pyramid in the past 2 years have all lost their magic? 🙄

At last, time to end this once and for all and have everyone in the "grade" in the pyramid.

Its embarrassing that clubs like Talbot have sat on their behinds and allowed the likes of East Kilbride, BSC, Edinburgh City and their ilk to jump years ahead of them, time to admit that the "grade" is done and move on.

We haven't lost our magic our game vs linlithgow rose last season was same as it was any time in the juniors other than it had a bigger attendance because it was on a fixture list and a Saturday.  We have embraced new changes like groundhop day which has helped us grow as a club

Sorry, but I couldn't disagree more.

Back in the real world where magic is only something Penn and Teller do and not some fairy dust sprinkled over a group of teams that through various accidents of history currently play in the same association, what would actually change  were Talbot to join the pyramid?

They'd still be a successful club playing in an Ayrshire village that's fiercely and rightly proud of them.

It's not like anybody's talking about renaming them the East Ayrshire Rhinos and relocating them to Dayton, Ohio.

What magic will be lost? What is it that makes junior clubs tic that is different than a non junior side? What is it that Talbot will regret? What non league senior sides are now more run of the mill?

If Talbot remain Junior and outside the pyramid they will likely lose Scottish Cup entry in the long run. The sfa and spfl clubs appear to be trying to limit access and eventually clubs out with the Pyramid will lose access to the sfa Scottish Cup.

They'd probably retain the Junior cup and amateur cup winners getting in but league winners will go. But for me the best thing to happen would be the west to come in as is

Considering there is ongoing discussions about the juniors entering the pyramid I'd imagine most clubs have a contingency plan in each event. Talbot arent leaving, but if change happens and the juniors join the pyramid then they will be fully prepared is what I took from it

I think its increasingly more likely if Talbot want to go senior they’ll have to join a breakaway league.
