Junior football, what is the future?

Thornton set-up a table at the entrance gate to the memorial park to collect admission, but you can walk past them if you are so inclined as they can’t really stop you.  During games you watch people walking through the park, stop to watch the game for a while and then move on.  Also the bottom end of the park at the car park is completely open and again they have a table behind the bottom goal to collect admission.

They could set-up like Coldstream, but I guess it’s down to whether they are allowed to do that. It also depends on whether they are interested in moving in the first place.

Suspect Glenrothes juniors is a knee-jerk reaction to the strollers. No way can they compete with the Glenrothes strollers set up through the age groups. It is doomed to fail.

Only thing strollers are missing is an actual adult team. Juniors are ripe for the picking.

With Thornton you'd hope that even with their ground as it is, if it snowballed again and all of the juniors moved over then the EOS would allow them to join.

Meanwhile, looks like clubs are eagerly awaiting the East Region's next move:

All waiting on ersjfa well they are going to piss about until it's too late. So that's a stupid thing to do

What is ersjfa structure for next season

You are being rather pedantic.

Currently as nothing has been voted on, it is still unchanged

The proposal is for North and South Supers & North & South Premiers.

They are hoping for 4 leagues of 10.

Other details still to be confirmed ie number of fixtures.

The geographical split (If everyone stays and they get new applicants) looks pretty obvious based on the numbers.

I do believe the 2 league winners play-off to provide an overall winner who if then licensed would go forward to the "play-off" with any other licensed winners from West Juniors, EOS & SOS.

All "dependant" of course on other Pyramid "issues"

The EOS structure next season is a 16 team Premier League and below that will be decided after the March 31 application deadline.

At present there are 39 clubs in the EoS. Looking ahead,  next season's structure will depend upon the number of new clubs which join the league. What we know so far is:

* the new Premier Division will almost certainly lose one club (net) to the Lowland League, caused by the the need to fill the vacancy caused by the  loss of Selkirk. There may be a 2nd  club loss if a SLL club is relegated, which depends upon the outcome of the SPFL/Tier 5 club play-off. . The Premier Division will be comprised of 16 clubs

* we can now assume that Glenrothes and Sygenta will join the EoS, which if no one else joins (and no one leaves or merges with another club), there would probably be 40 clubs in total, meaning 2 Tier 7 divisions of 12 clubs, probably geographically split as North & South divisions

*  if (say) an additional 4 new clubs join the EoS, each Tier 7 division, can realistically expand to 14 clubs, increasing the number of EoS clubs to 44

 * however, if the total number of EoS clubs exceeds 46 for next season, 3 "conferences" may be required at tier 7, the size of which will depends on the total membership numbers.

Yes, 31 March will be a key date.

How would you feel if Tayport decided to move to EOSFL?

ITs looking possible Syngenta won't get in because of their ground. Their is two glenrothes applied. The Juniors and the Strollers

It's an interesting point.

JC/Fauldhouse have been fairly vocal on here that change needs to happen and that they can't sustain another season of travel to a Tayside dominated Superleague.

What happens if the AGM vote goes against change and the structure remains, the likes of Fauldhouse are then in a very difficult position as it would be far too late to move to the EoS.  Currently the split would now only see 16 clubs in the south divisions.

That is the major problem and Pumpherston coming out with what they are doing sitting waiting on others. That can't be a good place to be.

I'm not really an avid supporter as such. I just happen to live in the village and watch the majority of their home games.

I would be okay with Tayport moving to the EOS but believe it definately should not happen unless the following occurs.

SJFA East not in Pyramid on a level footing with EOS ,

SJFA are in Pyramid on a level footing with EOS but  East Region created a no relegation system due to low numbers (Current proposal would still have relegation).

AFAIK within the club I believe there is no appetite to join under any circumstances.

The new management team of course are all neebors so may bring a different viewpoint to the table.

The proposed set up is 100% logistically better for Tayport than joining the EOS as the "periphery club" imo

I do not see any real ambition for Licensing at Tayport.  If they had wanted lights etc they would have done it years ago.  Other facilities would be easily upgradeable.
