BBC Article on the SJFA, comments from TJ

So he’s seriously still going with the “12 month notice” threat? Utterly deluded. Remaining SJFA members surely need to replace TJ to have a decent shot at survival going forward?

What an absolute walloper this TJ guy is. Rearranging the deckchairs on the titanic springs to mind.

Have seen it claimed that he is a paid employee rather than an elected official and can't easily be got rid of.

3. The county shall be divided into the following Regions, viz: NORTH EAST WEST

The committee may, with the consent of the Region interested, transfer a club from one Region to another and the club so transferred shall thereafter, for all purposes, be a member of the Region for which it is transferred. Any club intending to resign from a Region must give 12 months notice to that Region and the Scottish Junior FA.

The above was taken from the SJFA Articles and was cited in our meeting on Monday.  There are several examples of why this can't/won't be enforced.

1.  Clubs going into abeyance - how many clubs know 12 months in advance of their demise. (So in effect clubs should pay their £35 go into abeyance and resign)

2.  Clubs aren't resigning from a Region but leaving Junior Football completely.

3.  Kelty Hearts didn't give 12 months notice - so setting a precedence for such a move. (If they were looking to enforce such a Rule then they should have informed clubs at that time.)

TJ - the time for action was when Kelty left not June 2018 when you have managed to decimate a whole Region by your inability to do your job

Yeah I've just read the SJFA Constitution and that is the only bit that mentions the 12 months. Seems very unlikely it would apply to clubs leaving and if action has not previously been taken against clubs folding (Lewis United), going into abeyance (Inverness City) or leaving (Kelty last year) then you can't really threaten the clubs going to EOS under those regulations.

The other thing in the constitution worth noting is that the East Region will now only be entitled to two delegates on the Management Committee , down from 4 this year (4 for West, 2 for North) while the quorum will remain at 8 delegates. So unless they change the constitution they will need everyone to turn up to every Management Committee meeting next year in order to get anything done.

I did say last week his silence was sinister and wouldnt surprise me if he was working in the back ground to veto everything. I can see a statement from the SFA coming shortly saying a 12 month notice will have to be done and nobody's getting into the pyramid until it's done.

After all this time sitting twiddling his thumbs with no statement he issues a threat to clubs........seems the sort you would want running the show

Given the SFA licensed Kelty four months after they resigned from the Juniors they can hardly decide to start vetoing licenses now without being totally hypocritical.

So you're probably correct.

It's a pity the person interviewing him didn't know enough about the issue to challenge him.

Phil Goodlad was speaking to Jim Spence this morning, said that their calls to the SJFA had gone unanswered. Obviously TJ enjoys a lie-in, and of course the BBC had to get the other side of the story. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0b57lfm#play at 2:25:25

Even if the 12 months' notice is applicable, what can the SJFA do about it in practice? I suppose they could go to court and seek an injunction (interdict in Scotland?), but that would be risking a lot of their funds in legal fees. And if they won there would inevitably be appeals, with escalating costs.

It's a bit like an employee walking out without notice: even if you could force him to stay you don't want the disgruntled b*stard around the place for the next month poisoning the atmosphere.

1 things for sure he's not in the little bit interested or worried about the exodus as far as his statement is concerned it's buisness as usual which is fucking mental

Whats to stop any club being forced to give notice playing in both set ups and fielding a reserve team in the juniors (or an under tens team) and joining the EOSL as a ‘new club’. If he wants to act the arse about it the clubs can just make a mockery of him.

Brilliant solution!

As for acting the arse, there is no limit to the stupidity of sports administrators (worldwide, at all levels) so anything's possible.

What is this?  Just your idea of how it should look?

2% battery life, gives me the fear.

The picture itself looks like one of the examples that was posted on here last week. It also appears a sensible way of splitting the teams up, don't suppose anyone forward thinking would complain.

As for TJ, the West region should send him letters of intent to resign en-masse this evening - the pyramid is coming in the West and he needs to get out of the way.

Just found this.

The bit where it says the "club's must give a period of 12 months notice, and we'll be reminding them of this" . . . . . . . . . . How accurate is this? And can they actually hold clubs to this? Screenshot_20180607-134834_BBC%20Sport.jpg

Not true .junior clubs indicated they would like to be included in the pyramid structure .not leave to join pyramid structure . Inclusion would allow those good enough on and off the park to move forward if they feel the desire . Inclusion also allows the clubs the option of club licensing from within the present structure . Hardly rocket science but allas the world has gone mad there are less than a handfull off junior clubs capable off rising through the ranks at this time . If people think differently they are deluded . Just look at the cove rangers cowdenbeath game recently .

Don't forget that the following clubs left the Juniors and joined the seniors VOLUNTARILY. They didn't give a years notice. As far as I am aware the SJFA didn't challenge any of these leavers.

As a reminder they are :  Kelty Hearts, Formartine United, Strathspey Thistle, Turriff United, Inverurie Loco Works. Also I have been informed that Cove Rangers played in the North Juniors for one season, en route from the Amateurs to the Highland League.

As an aside, none of them have subsequently returned to the Juniors.
