Infuriating Things Your Partner Does

Mine's been doing that for the past ten years, mainly with me and the wean. She always, always gets our names wrong the first time, which is remarkable.

The mother-in-law has a thing where she always gets the gender of animals wrong when referring to them, and my mother's just entered that stage too. I could understand occasional confusion due to old age, but fucking it up every time?

My wife does it with our 4 cats - she gets the names wrong as well as the gender.  Even more impressive is that all 4 are named after their features (mow mow, Oreo, blindy and ginger!)

I get called Scott by both of my parents, and he gets called by my name. Happens all the time - ever since he was a toddler.

In this instance he almost certainly means sex and not gender but there's now a bit of discussion about this with the higher apes. So some non-human animals might have genders.

One of the gremlins in gremlins 2 was a transvestite. I think that settles it.

How can we know? I couldn't tell if a dog was male or female without looking at its crotch, but a dog could probably tell from a hundred yards.
