I annoy people by going 4,3,4. The middle 3 are 747, like the plane, so that's how I memorised it.

This is 100% correct and honestly any deviation makes my blood boil. Almost as bad as saying “mum” and “dad” when referring to your parents to others.

i even still do 5 3 3 even though the first 5 and last 5 digits of mine are the same so it would be easier to do 5 1 5 but I FUCKING DON’T cause 5 3 3 is correct.

In fairness, I hung out some shirts, towels and trousers the other day for a couple hours at lunchtime. There’s maybe an alternate women’s forum with a similar thread where my other half is calling me out for this behaviour.

I like the freshness of the clothes being outside, even if only for an hour or so, and finishing them off indoors as I don’t like how they dry (that hard “foosty” feel) if only indoors.

The correct way.  Just like land lines its area code / network code (for mobiles) then the number split in two.
