He’s proved in the past that he’ll be a very good signing for Hibs as is a good Premiership player.

Does anyone know why he struggled in Saudi ? I know the football over there is a lot more technical and slower then ours due to the heat and Boyle’s biggest asset is his pace ? That maybe something to do with it ?

Also, did he struggle with homesickness as his family never went ?

He didn’t struggle from a football side…did well over there…was complex though, as it often is…wasn’t getting paid etc….

Aye 3 goals in 11 games wasn’t exactly struggling tbf, scored one in their equivalent of the Champions League.

If you translate a few of the Arabic comments on Al-Faisaly’s tweet it sounds like they’re not happy about letting him go either.

Think it’s just due to the relegation and him being a big earner.

He manages fine in the heat when playing for Australia tbf.

He scored 3 goals and one assist in 12 games, in the third-worst team in a 16-team league. He was directly involved in 4 of the 10 goals the team scored when he was on the pitch. He didn't struggle, the team did.

The team got relegated and they couldn't afford him anymore.

So obviously we'll never know the details but have we effectively made somewhere between 500 grand and a million by loaning him over there for 6 months?

He'll probably be back on a higher wage than previously but no doubt hibs will have made a decent amount from this.

Yes. We’ve actually managed to become even more Gordon Gecko than we were when Petrie was here.

Which will cover any wage rise.  We are that money may as well give Rachel a wage rise and pay for the nanny too tbh.   As will of course WC appearance cash.

Easily the best signing of the summer in Scotland.

If Hibs have managed to get a fair chunk of the fee up front and then got him back for nothing, that's a fantastic bit of business.

As mentioned we got £1.5m of the fee, but it sounds like we may have had to "see Boyle right" for some unpaid salary from the Saudi club.

However, as you say - if we have made Hibs some cash, made Boyle some cash and re-signed him, its a brilliant deal all round.
