Guest Moomintroll
Had a few folk losing it after last night already [emoji38] Martin chucked in all three goals, we missed a pen and played two different teams. It was also our first pre season game. Football fans are fucking mental. Are actual adult football fans still giving a shit about preseason friendly results? Not saying this because we got humped 3 nil last night, but who cares?

So, not entirely appropriate for a match where (the mighty) Arbroath went 1 then 2 goals ahead in a friendly?? Also, as far as I am aware, its pretty much universally acknowledged that we joyfully reclaimed this term in 2016 - firstly when we came back from 2-0 down with ten minutes to go at tynie and subsequently put you out the cup, then when we came back from 2-1 down v Sevco to win the final in the 92nd minute and rendered 99% of your songbook obsolete. I understand its only now used by the type of loser who still thinks singing about Hibs fans being gay is "cool".

The story in Sevco-land is that the original Hibs went out of business in the late 19th century (so we shouldnt have 1875 on our crest), despite the fact that clubs came and went and were reconstituted back then all the time, this is now a FACT down Govan way. The second time - lets call it a Follow Follow Fact - is because Tom Farmer says Hibs were "bust" when he took over, then that means we must have been liquidated!! Despite all evidence to the contrary - and that it might have been newsworthy that we went from being in administration to being liquidated - obviously none of this was reported (mainly because it didnt happen) but as STF stated Hibs were basically down the toilet, then this has now become one of their many comfort blankets. I am sure there are a few decent Rangers fans out there, but not many have Twitter accounts or access to the WWW. Fannies

In Hibs case a new company was formed to run the football club........but then again, that happens all the time too (i.e. when Budges Bidco (?) bought Hearts when they were in admin, its hardly a big deal..............and it doesnt mean liquidation. Its one of these radge things that zoomers dredge up from time to time. The current one is that the new Hibs owner hasnt actually spent any money, but loaded the club with the £6M he spent to buy out the debt to Tom Farmer plus Farmers shares. Its such a ludicrous scenario on many different levels - This is part of Tom Farmers legacy - lets remember, charity, church and his perception in the wider community is everything to him. Petrie is now the heid mucker in the SFA - would he allow this to happen on his watch? Likelihood less than zero. Is "loading a club with debt to leverage profit" even workable in Scotland? Maybe with a Celtic or Rangere, down south it is working with Man Utd, but Hibs? Not in a million. But, hey - wherever theres a conspiracy theory, theres a radge to retweet it (including some Hibs fans).

After a quick Google, this came up... https://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/teams/hibernian/on-this-day-in-1988-the-public-flotation-that-almost-sunk-hibs-1-4808909/amp " Edinburgh Hibernian PLC went into liquidation in 1991. Farmer reconstituted the club. “The club was on the stock exchange only that one time,” recalls Farmer. “It came back into private ownership when I came along. But what I did, everybody who had shares with Hibs, I gave them equivalent shares in the new format. “So if someone had bought 100 shares and lost their money, what they got was 100 shares in the new format – the original club people had bought shares in went into liquidation. There was a new club, a new Hibernian. These people may well still have these shares today" -
