For Ron Gordon, ego and image is absolutely everything - it's why he bought us to be honest.

In June, Scotland have the chance to qualify for the WC and if we do we will play the USA - this will mean more than ever in the States the profile of Scotland and Scottish football will be in the forefront and part of that will be American owners of the clubs in Scotland and Hibernian and Gordon will play a massive part of that.

With this is mind, Gordon will be fuming.  "The experiment" never paid off we are bottom six, no national final and no European football.  His ego will be dented and when it comes to June/July and from the outside would look weak sticking by the failure that was the Belgian National cone boy regardless of what happens next season.

For that reason I think we will go much higher profile that makes him and the club look better and rosier all in better light.  Right or wrong I wouldn't be shocked at all if our next appointment all things considered is Strachan or McLeish.  Both former Scottish National managers which will automatically gain interest from media over there and who would be better to give interviews/punditry to yank media?  Yep Former Scotland and current Ron Gordons Hibernian manager.....

I do wonder if a part of the sacking is not to gain ANY kind of 'new manager bounce' this Saturday against Saints.

We've been in a terrible run of form too; but whoever wins this game (if there's a winner) will almost certainly be safe.

The loser on the other hand will be bricking it.

And 'bricking it' is not where you want to be with 4 games to go.

Love an ex Celtc teammate reaction after their pal has been deservedly sacked from a job they’ve made a complete mess of.

Also, Commons writes for the Daily Mail - tells you all you need to know about the man.

The term Hibs'd it certainly rings true with their revolving door for managers.

Two comments -

  • That term originated from a tendency to surrender an unassailable lead - it seems difficult if not impossible to assimilate that to hiring and firing team managers.
  • The term hasnt been in common use for a number of years, and is only ever used by attention seeking twats these days.

Nope. It's a cliche that died at 4.52pm on 21st May 2016 when David Gray's header crashed into Wes Foderingham's net.

I’m not sure hibs fans have the authority to remove the term from general use, tbqh.

Thats true, but at least use it where it makes sense.

Happy to accept it all over here if we end up relegated via a playoff, for example, having been at the top end of the division in September.

Spoiler

Will delete this post if that happens..........................

I did a fact check to see if Hibs couldn't actually be said to have thrown away a strong position and while you're validated on that score I stumbled on a weird coincidence

After Jack Ross' last game Hibs were on 15 points from 13 games which is the same ratio  (1.15 pts/game) as the 23 from 20 they got over the rest of the pre split season

They've slipped from 6th to 7th. Everybody who was ahead of them then is ahead of them now and everybody who was below them then is below them now except Ross county who were bottom back then

Maybe it's not the manager that was the problem
