Absolutely ridiculous we ever signed him.

• He’d just won the Champions League 6 years earlier.
• He played centre mid in the CL Final, up against the likes of Rijkaard, van Basten, Maldini, Baresi and Costacurta.
• One of only eleven players in history to be given a 10/10 match rating by L'Equipe.
• Former captain of France
• We were in the Scottish 1st Division at the time, playing Clydebank, Airdrie and Stranraer.

It would literally be like us going down this year and signing a 34yo Sergio Ramos in the summer.

Undefeated by Hearts as player & manager – the only thing he lost against them was his front teeth in Gary Naysmith’s skull when scoring that header. A true Hibernian legend, it's no wonder they call him Le God.

Big Franck strolling back into ER at the first chance now Rod has left the building:

and who was it that signed him ?

Team of the decade time lads. You're not allowed to just pick the cup final side though.

A 3-5-2.

GK Marciano

RWB Gray

LWB Stevenson

CB Bamba

CB McGregor

CB Ambrose

CM Miller

CM McGinn

CM Allan

ST Griffiths

ST Stokes

Subs.

Logan

Hanlon

McGeough

Bartley

Boyle

Claros

Malonga

Manager.

Alan Stubbs

A real struggle not to just pick the cup final team tbh as the first half of the decade was a write off.

He is (or was) class. No idea what his time off will have done to him and it’ll take him a month or two to get going again. If he came back the same player that left he’d be the best centre half outside the OF.

Probably on the "can't beat 'em, join 'em" principle.

I recall one of Efe's finest games was at ER against Livingston, where he skinned so many Livi players in the first half that they stopped trying to take the ball off him in the second; the run of play was that Hibs would get the ball, pass to Bogdan, who threw it to Efe, who would saunter, unchallenged, into the final third in order to start an attack, which Livi would defend and then the ball would get taken off them and the cycle repeated many times over. It was one of that dismal run of games prior to Lennon and Hibs mutually consenting to part ways, and it ended up a draw, but presumably Efe's performance stuck in the collective Livingston consciousness the way it stuck in mine...

Lewis Stevenson has been an utterly magnificent servant to our club and will be a very sad day when he finally hangs up his boots (hopefully a while away yet).  He might not be the most talented/gifted player we have on our books, but has always given his all for our club and is the only player in our history to win both the Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup as a Hibs player.  One club men are a rarity these days. Legend.  Happy Birthday wee man.

Northern Echo (Sunderland paper) saying we're after McGeouch and McLaughlin. McNulty may also be a possible option.

If we're thinking about taking on another keeper, we must be about to hoof two of the ones we have out the door.
