We hardly knew ye

The move didn’t work out for both parties unfortunately. I’d be letting Doran go too even if he’s playing for peanuts. He has absolutely no impact on games anymore, so slow.

For anyone wondering, 6th in the Championship is our worst ranking in the pyramid since 2001/02, which was equal. We haven’t been lower than this since 1998/99 when we were promoted from the second division as it was at the time.

Terrible, and the fool gets manager of the month?

The only plus with this if it helps him get his next club.

A fuckin joke and a slap in the face to the fans.

5 league wins and a draw plus the SF win and you’re somehow shocked / raging he won it? 😂 There’s no way your account isn’t some monumental piss take come on Sandy!

Your six league games in April were five wins and a draw, Dodds was obviously going to win manager of the month.

Four of those wins were against teams below us Hamilton, Arboath (both bottom), Raith Rovers who have never won against for so long and Morton. We got a draw against Dundee at home here with Dundee having an off day.

And against a strong Ayr, again at home, we were abysmal and ended up 6th, our worst Championship finish yet, and out of the play offs.

Dodds to his dying day along with his media pals will trot out an 'injury crisis' excuse as the cause but every team that finished above us has had an 'injury crisis' at some part of the season, injuries go hand in hand with the game.

Fact is his footballing tactics are poor plus his man management skills are lacking.

I suggest you scan this forum and Caley Thistle Online where you will see by a poll and the general consensus that he has to go, if not the kick back will be a serious decline in season tickets and merchandise sales which no amount of SC money will compensate for.

Morton were four points ahead before that game. The Ayr game was in May, which funnily enough is not relevant to the April Manager of the Month award.

This was the league table for results in April:

I'm not disputing any of your points about Dodds over the season as a whole, but there is nothing remotely controversial or even debatable about him winning that award.

@SandyCromarty it’s a results based business (your words) and the results strongly suggest Dodds deserved the April award, time to admit you’re wrong pal!

Thank You, and it's two seasons of failure.

1998/99 we were playing in the 2nd.

Crazy that we finished 8 points behind 1st this season and last season which is (disregarding the two interupted seasons) the closest equal finish behind the eventual league winners since relegation. Same points behind this season finished 6th, same points behind in 2022 finished 3rd.

2nd tier Historical points tally -

1999/00 - 49 points (6th) 27 points behind champion

2000/01 - 54 points (4th) 22 points behind champion

2001/02 - 48 points (6th) 18 points behind

2002/03 - 65 points (4th) 16 points behind

2003/04 - 70 points (1st) winners

2009/10 - 73 points (1st) winners

2017/18 - 58 points (5th) 17 points behind

2018/19 - 56 points (3rd) 15 points behind

2019/20 - 45 points (2nd) 14 points behind (27 games) season stopped due to COVID19

2020/21 - 36 points (5th) 21 points behind (27 games) COVID19

2021/22 - 59 points (3rd) 8 points behind

2022/23 - 55 points (6th) 8 points behind

Season 2021-2022 FAIL

Season 2022-2023 FAIL

Couldn’t agree more Sandy! Dodds winning manager of the month for April is a slap in the face to supporters, why the authorities never took into account the defeat against Ayr in May I’ll never know! 😡

Also need to mention that this season the Champions (ignoring the COVID years) have won this season's Championship with the least number of points compared to other seasons while we were in that same league.

The champions of nearly all seasons mentioned during these times were often runnning on a Premiership budget.
