Long winded statement and quite frankly could have been said in much fewer words. Couldn't even name who was supposed to be bullying them. Spit it out if you're going to make accusations in public surely, otherwise show a bit more class and keep it indoors. Not shown your club in a good light at all.

Meant to add, Ross McArthurs statement is of a more mature nature and has been endorsed as a true reflections of events by other SPFL clubs. So I'll go for backing that version of events.

What is the motivation of Caleys statement?, given their null & void initiative would have cost them £175,000, utterly bizarre.

Are they a mini-Sevco unit?

I don't believe for one second you have sat down and read either statement, but more likely needed the Daily Record dumb down translation to understand.

I am completely guessing here but I would surmise that our motion would have included reconstruction as part of it which would mean that, even if we did lose £175,000 from the prize monies from the Championship, we would have more than made up for that had reconstruction gone through and ICT ended up in the Premiership.

If they had been promoted through reconstruction they would have had to have kept their second place and thus the prize money I'd have thought. None of it makes much sense.

I don't think they would if the season was declared N & A but then reconstruction took place? The whole thing was a shambles with the vote and it's continued to snowball ever since.

Doncaster et al. should be reining this in pronto but he seems to be content to let clubs fall out with each other very publicly which is a shame.

If the season is voided (with any remaining prize money split evenly), it follows from that that Inverness didn’t finish in second place - because you’re pretty much wiping out the standings.

I don’t see how it would be fair to say that nothing counts, but then - through reconstruction - start promoting teams based on where they finished in a season that you’ve just told everyone doesn’t count.

Yeah I agree, I am only speculating on the reconstruction part. I've no idea what our "counter proposal" entailed.

Indeed. Seems that Gardiner didn't think these things through or consider them and when they've been pointed out to him he's started shrieking that they're 'threats' and is tearfully framing such telts as 'bullying'.

About time. I was getting bored waiting for the next statement to arrive.

There is not a scintilla of truth in this disgraceful hatchet piece published in that Glasgow newspaper today.

Clearly it’s all a central belt conspiracy against the Highlanders.

Well done lads, that's comfortably the worst statement yet. Your club is getting dragged down here for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

Ross Morrison needs to spend more time looking for a new CEO rather than flicking through a thesaurus for words that he thinks will make him sound clever.

Not necessarily. The alternative was that promotion/relegation would not be awarded on the ppg basis but prize money would be. You could then easily say you are enlarging the top flight or second tier by x teams based on the ppg standings.

I don't think you are saying nothing counts, just that across the board, the conventional system of up/down was disproportionately harsh on some teams (i.e Hearts, Thistle, Falkirk etc) and disproportionately rewarding others (i.e. St Mirren, Raith, QotS etc). The short-term cash flow is important but this could be making an impact on teams that last many years when they still had football to play and a reasonable chance of improving their situation.

I would argue that if we did just take something resembling Livi's 14 plan for the top flight and promoted accordingly down the leagues, that would have been by far the least bad plan and been far less hurtful overall. Obviously, clubs will act in their self-interest but I think it is disappointing considering that it was really a minimal sacrifice and in 2013, we actually achieved a lot more with top flight clubs significantly reducing their cash share through the leagues and introducing the play-offs.

I miss the days when people laughed at us when we released statements promising thorough investigations for someone using the club Twitter account to like porn videos. Halcyon days.

I would like to take a moment to offer Caley Jags fans, and the wider football community some clarity.

This morning we woke to another scurrilous piece of journalism on our club simply because we did not go along with the now infamous and botched SPFL resolution on April 10th. Of course this should come as no shock to anyone since we are enduring a concerted and co-ordinated campaign to tarnish any club which seeks to disagree with, or shine a light on the incompetence unfolding before our very eyes.

This shameful attack on the integrity our CEO in this morning’s Daily Record is totally without foundation and I will be speaking publicly later in the week in greater detail on just how far fetched and ridiculous this is. It would be laughable if it wasn’t such a crass attempt to attack an individual who, alongside myself, has been entirely truthful and consistent throughout this sorry and unprofessional debacle.

From the outset we argued for a change in the resolution so that monies could be paid out on places as we all stand in order to get help to those who desperately needed it and that no relegation should  take place. A priority was that further harm should not be inflicted upon fellow members at a time of crisis. That was it and our statement on Sunday reiterated that we did not, a any time, have issue with titles being awarded. Suggesting that we were attempting to do something which would lose the club the best part of £200,000 is quite preposterous. Every reasonable person will see that.
We were asked to support a resolution with Rangers and Hearts that sought to pay out the fees on places but not to conflate it with relegation. It did that and that alone. That was the only other resolution we put forward or discussed with anyone and even then, only as a signatory.

There is not a scintilla of truth in this disgraceful hatchet piece published in that Glasgow newspaper today. It is utterly without foundation and I can tell you the “secret Inverness plan” was so secret that no-one in Inverness knew about it! As I say, it would be funny if it were not so shameless and designed to tarnish our club and our CEO. I also take it personally and we will not stand for it.

We will be looking to shed more light on this very serious issue in the coming days but we would like to thank the supporters of many clubs, including our own obviously, for their solidarity and the officials and officers of the many clubs who have contacted us with support this morning. We will reserve our rights to defend the club against all unfair and false accusations but in the meantime we have another vote to attend.
Thank You

Ross Morrison

My club really needs to stop putting out statements right now.

What makes it even worse is if ICT hadn’t issued these statements, everyone would be just sitting laughing at Hearts and Rangers.  There’s absolutely no reason for it.
