TheScarf
Looks like we beat Raith and Dunfermline for Deas. Probably the first time a player has ever chosen us over a club in the same league.

Wonder if he seen how Jamie Mccart fared up here and thought he could go on a similar path

Both clubs were interested and I know we need a central defender but no way could we afford to commit to a 3 year deal. As for the Pars they already have a big squad, perhaps they were also a bit wary about the length of deal and cost when they weren't desperate to fill the position. I was quite hopeful he'd come to us on loan after doing well for Alloa last season, but good luck to the kid.

I don't really see why we'd sign him, we currently have Watson, Murray, Martin and Lang as cover at centre back, it's probably our most covered position. Before Watson signed I could've maybe have seen it but I just doubt we would've been chasing him at all after signed him. Certainly if we were there's not a chance we'd be offering him a starting berth or a 3 year contract.
Highland Capital
If Walsh wanted to go back down the road, then fair enough, but I think he could've gotten himself a Premiership club pretty easily.

I agree with that, he has a good game in him and no disrespect to AU but I'm surprised he and his agent didn't aim higher.

It was all down to length of contract , 2 clubs were not willing to only give him the 1 year contract he desired ( don’t know his reason for only wanting the 1year ) they would not budge from the 2 years they offered , he said the position Ayr are offering him suits his style of game

It was reported at the time of Yogi's appointment that Telfer had come very close to getting the job - but I hadn't realised it was as close as that. SandyCromarty
Look fwd to seeing Allardice once we get going, looks like it didn't work out at Waterford after only 3 appearances?
SandyCromarty
Passed the tory Couriers office on Stadium Road and it's all blowing tumbleweed deserted with the gates locked and blinds down. Looks like their begging campaign didn't work out and the multi millionaire owner didn't want to fork out.

We've had players of this caliber before and somehow turned their careers into some success. Time will tell.
