So is this thread if it goes the way you seem to be wanting it to.

There is a Darvel Juniors thread where you will get all the arguments and playground stuff you want, please keep this one out of it. :thumsup2

Just concentrating on my visit to the coast thank you! P.S Good result for Ashfield on saturdayemoji23.png

Ach, we never win the West of Scotland Cup anyway, no point in hanging about in the competition and clogging up the fixtures. We like to stay in the big cups though.... :thumsup2

Just checking the fixtures for December, and next Ayrshire bound trip.
Looks like Meadow Park, Maeadow Park or Meadow Park.
on 18/11 Kello Rovers at home is followed by a long away trip to Dyce on 25/11.
Obviously to make up for this marathon trip the fixture guy has seen fit to reducing our December travelling by arranging,
02/12 - Larkhall at Meadow Park
09/12 - R Glens at Meadow Park
16/12 - Troon at Meadow Park
So 4 home league games only interrupted by an away Scottish Cup game that the fixture guy couldn't influence the venue of,
Just notright.

And the fixture that was on the calendar for the 25th before we both made it through in the Scottish was Meadow v Petershill.

And while Irvine Meadow have all these home games in a row, Rutherglen Glencairn have four away league games in a row, including Irvine Meadow v Rutherglen Glencairn.

That leaves us with one home match in two months, our Scottish Junior Cup tie v Stonehaven, and we will probably lose money on it because of the travel allowance requirements.

Why it is not Rutherglen Glencairn v Irvine Meadow is just beyond me, it seems so bleedin' obvious it's not real.

Agreed,

It just means that sometime in 2018, Jan/Feb/Mar,  Meadow will go the same 4 or 5 weeks without a home fixture and no income.

You'd think that somebody somewhere would suggest a switch of venue for Meadow v Glencairn. :whistle:angel

Maybe he’s giving home fixtures to clubs that have grounds with a good record of not postponing games due to weather. Frost or rain, Meadow Park has a good record. And I’m not having a dig at Glencairn.

Perhaps, but the fixture scheduling is putting a member club in a very difficult financial position. Not only do we have all these away games in a row, the last two are away from home into Ayrshire on consecutive weeks (Irvine and Largs). How are we meant to pay for buses to transport the players to the game, or travel expenses if we ask the players to make their own way to these games two weeks in a row, if we don't have any income from home games due to the fixture scheduling ?

By the way, Glencairn only had one home match postponed due to the weather in December and January of last season, and that was a match that everybody except the referee thought should have been played, i.e. the scandalous decision to postpone the game v Irvine Meadow when our pitch was "like a bowling green" (as described by an Irvine Meadow player who turned up). Our pitch is a million times better than it was a couple of years ago.

If you look at meadow's league program you will find that out of seven games played, five have been away from home and only two at home.

True, but at this time of year no teams should be getting 2 games in a row at home never mind 4 or 5,how are groundsmen supposed to keep pitches playable in winter weather

I hear that Meadow and Troon were the only teams to ask for a fixture on Dec 23rd and guess what..they are scheduled to play their second league fixture on Dec 16th! So no game on 23rd. Doesnt make sense when there are other teams that both havent played at all and could have played on 16th.
