Game at Thornton cancelled today as a result of recent horrendous weather, so JC has all the boys in for training. A 4 mile road run then an hour in the gym follows put through a strenuous routine by Dunny. Great effort by all players but it wasn’t finished there, the guys then went out to help the usual hardy half dozen hard working committee men who were out on the park trying to repair and rectify all the damage done by the recent bad weather. So shovelling sand, wheelbarrowing and digging, something new to some of the guys, but a tremendous effort to support the few committee guys. This gesture by the boys is greatly appreciated by all at the club and shows what JC has produced this season, a group of brilliant guys who are not only producing the goods on the pitch but who are also prepared to muck in and help the club off the park to try and get our weather battered pitch playable. It makes you proud to be involved with the club when your players are doing what they are doing, and not just asking for there wages. JC has got the feel good factor back in the club and a bunch of guys that are a pleasure to be involved with. Onwards and upwards for the rest of the season guys. Mon the Hoose.

Very kind words mate which is appreciated. The boys are an absolute credit. It was my main aim to get the club functioning as one. For me if everyone pulls together helps each other out in hard times it makes the good times together as a club even better. We as a management team and players appreciate the hard work you guys do everyday. Helping out today was also a good team building exercise and ENJOYABLE

Cheers mate it's just trying to incorporate a togetherness at the club and the players take full credit for embracing it and fully WANTING to help anyway they can as a group. For me there's far too many junior players that think they are too good to do x y or z that they should turn up collect a wage and everyone clean their arse at the same time. It's a two way street with us the committee do everything for the boys and our boys APPRECIATE it and try give something back when they can.

Tonight we completed the signing of Martin Lawrie from Whittlets Victoria. Martin has had previous spells with Hurlford and most notably captain of Blackburn. Martin brings a wealth of experience to us in the second half of the season IMG_-y7wxnj.jpg

At this moment in time the home match against Dunbar is in major doubt. As work had started on our pitch repairs we got held up by frozen weather which put us back a week. This Saturday our pitch isn't playable to which we asked Dunbar If we could give up home advantage and go to them to get the match on. Dunbar have been superb and very accommodating to the extent of offer half the gate money which is a major help with us having no game for 7 weeks to then find out there was a rule which I didn't know that prevents us playing Dunbar twice at theirs. We are now scampering around trying to get a park for Saturday to get the match on. I have tonight contacted a couple of clubs with hope someone can accommodate us in our bid to get a match on.
