Possible fractured foot for Doyle-Hayes according to Goodwin. Left Pittodrie on crutches and taken to hospital for an x-ray.

On McGrath, he's talking as if it may be feasible to delay an op and patch him up to get through to the end of season.

Full of praise for Cammy, so I guess he'll be starting on Wednesday in place of JDH.

Gutting for JDH, do you think that will make him more or less likely to stay?

His family weren't willing to come over

He then wanted to commute and the club weren't keen on it

That's it

Was there not a little more where apparently GLS was fine with him commuting but then changed his mind?

For me initially I thought OK had worked his ticket, then I swayed towards both being in the wrong and took it as one of those things that probably worked out for the best of both parties.

All the OK stuff is now ancient history.  He came in to do a job, IMHO did it well and we stayed up.  Then he left, and thats it.

Goodie doing a terrific job, Better in every way.  Top 6 currently looking possible/probable and the next 6 games could have a profound effect on the club.

I wish OK all the best but wouldn't give him a second thought.

Funny enough watching Sportscene Hamilton looked hungry full of energy.  They looked very good. Clearly their tails are up . We are not meeting them at the right time I feel.

Hamilton looked very good against Rangers too.

They seem to have found form an confidence, and we are averaging losing a player a week to long term injuries at the moment.

We really are down to bare bones, and that is going to have a massive impact on how we can perform in what SHOULD have been 4 very winnable home games coming up.

Jim Goodwin signs new contract

St Mirren Football Club is delighted to announce that the manager, Jim Goodwin and assistant manager Lee Sharp have signed new 3-year contracts with the Club through to June 2024.

The Board recognise the dedication and commitment that Jim has given to the club and the initial benefits of this can be seen with the developing success on the park.  In this challenging season, Jim has led the Club to a Hampden semi-final and achieved league success with historic wins. Jim continues to be an excellent ambassador for the Club and his work with the St Mirren Foundation and the causes they support is evidence of his passion and commitment for the Club and the wider community it supports.

Jim’s commitment to a longer-term deal will allow us to build on the Club's ambitious plans. In the last year the club has signed a Scottish internationalist, an ex-English premiership player, have invested in The Academy, and Stadium and Ralston infrastructure upgrades. The Board will now be looking to extend contracts of key players in coming period, and develop an enhanced scouting department to ensure we have the right platform on the park to allow Jim Goodwin to continue to build on the success of this season.

It is an exciting time for St Mirren on the park, as we strive to achieve the footballing ambitions that we set at the beginning of this season. We are also working hard to prepare for the future and the return of our fans to the SMISA Stadium. We are working to develop all non-football commercial activity to make sure that when our fans return, they can have a new, contemporary, enhanced experience when we all get back to backing the Buddies safely from the stands.

Chief Executive, Tony Fitzpatrick explained: "The Board has recognised the excellent results and progress this season under Jim and to continue developing as a club we see this as an integral piece of the plan.  Jim has been given one of the highest player budgets of any St Mirren Manager and he is now the highest paid manager in club’s history. The immediate focus will continue to be on Jim leading the team to a potential top 6 finish. This deal allows everyone to plan longer term to bring further success to our Club.  We are an ambitious Club and we believe with Jim ambitions we have an exciting, successfully future ahead."

Jim Goodwin commented: “I'm delighted to extend my contract here. I appreciate the board offering the new deal to me and for the recognition of the hard work that myself and my staff are doing here.

"It's a great time to be a part of this club. I feel there is a real air of positivity and we have SMiSA soon to take over the running of the club and the introduction of Kibble which is a fantastic step in the right direction. There are really good people on the board who are as keen as I am to take the club forward and take it to the next level."

Please don't make this like, BAWA - all bickering and name calling.

Hamilton seem to have found some form, which is a bit worrying. On the plus side, Livingston seem to have lost their stride. :)

As much as it's fantastic being in the cup final, i do wonder if one eye has been on it and that has contributed to our dip in form the last 2 games. Huge game for both of us on Saturday, esp if you win on Wed, and i fear our players minds will be on a cup final place, in the back of their minds thinking about getting injured and missing out, great time for St Mirren to be playing us.

Hoping Martindale will do what he did against Celtic before our semi final with you, and stick in a few fringe players telling them they're playing for a place in the final.

Quoted for new page.

That's just brilliant, tbh. I like the line about securing contracts for key players now, too - and it sounds like there's plenty of other exciting stuff happening too.

If he continues on his current trajectory then I would be inclined to agree.

Would like to see him have another great season at St Mirren then maybe do well at a championship club down South. St Mirren have been by far one of the most entertaining teams (and most improved) the 2nd half of the season.

“A new, contemporary, enhanced experience when we all get back to backing the Buddies safely from the stands.”

Can only be two explanations. One - they are filling in the corners, vastly expanding the concourse spaces and adding exciting new street food style catering choices and a barista standard coffee bar.... or, the bird shit will be cleaned off the seats and we’ve got hot running water back in the West Bank lavvies.

Either way. Easy the Mirren.

That's great news. I have a feeling he might only be there until the end of next season.

Reckon there will be serious and sustained interest by the end of next season at which point he will have been in the role for 3 years.

If he does go before the end of his contract, then he'd go with the best will in the world. He had always said his ambition as a manager was to manage us one day and he thought the opportunity was gone so if he does leave for a bigger club at any point before the end of his new deal, he'll be doing so having made a major success of the job.

At least we are safe in the knowledge that he won't be constantly working his ticket and playing brinksmanship for a move south...
