Probably an unpopular opinion but I'm very much 'meh' about Connolly staying.

He doesn't create enough consistently for me. On his day he's as fast as shit off a stick but you generally know in the first couple of minutes if he's on it or not and more often, he's ineffective.

Indeed.

More mediocre to poor performances than good ones IMO.

As you say, on his day he can be great, but way too inconsistent.

Needs to bring far more to the team, if he re-signs.

Don't worry, you're replacing him with a 30yo version of him on far more money.

If it's O'Halloran, then he'll be replacing Durmus, who was on a sizeable wage.

O'Halloran wants to stay but offer from St Mirren far more than Saints can afford.

He'll need to knock back more money if he's to remain in Perth.

Also heard something like this, I’m not sure he is worth throwing silly money at.

Its a no brainer for him if its true. He could barely get into our side last season, will be facing a fairly hefty wage cut with us due to that, and is now in his 30s.

Your signing policy this Summer seems a bit weird. Nothing wrong with going for experienced players at this level, but Dunne and MOH are both players who haven't played well at this level for years, are unlikely to give you 10+ good games a season, and aren't exactly in demand. Ones been given a 2yr deal and the other is seemingly getting a chunk of money and probably also a 2yr deal.

That doesn't make it better.

How the fuck would you know?

Because I've watched O'Halloran playing for the past 2 seasons and hes clearly finished now hes lost half a yard of pace. Chucking a wage at him is poor, replacing a player like Durmus with him is abysmal.

At best he should be back up as a RWB or RW. Nothing more.

So what are you basing us signing O'Halloran on?

Not saying it won't happen but what have you heard?

Radford and McG seem pretty sound at knowing whats happening at the respective clubs.

So if they're saying you're chucking "more money at MOH than St Johnstone can afford", then he'll be signing for you, as no other club will come close to that in terms of wages.

Pretty sure he is talking shite as I've been told MOH is staying at Saints

Slight negotiations needed on contract and wages but my contact is a journalist and usually spot on when it comes to Saints and reckons it will be tied up soon.

If its Robert Thomson hes not got many "exclusives" right about Saints for a year or two now.

Scenes if St Johnstone have pushed the boat out to fend off our interest.

There's zero chance of our dour chairman doing that. He was burned a couple of times in TWs final seasons.

MOH/Swanson/Scougall/May all got massive wages they didn't deserve. MOHS current deal the last of those.

If he stays its because he's reluctant to leave the club where his best football has come at. I've still no idea where he actually fits into our team though.

And we sign Middleton instead.

Middleton is one I'd be pretty shocked if we weren't enquiring about. He was heavily linked with us last season before he went to Hibs and Goodwin had mentioned that we'd put feelers our for him.
