Dylan Connolly is an annoyingly good signing for you. Watched him a lot over past couple of seasons.

excellent pace when dribbling with the ball. Can also play upfront but is much better wide right.

Someone has posted a picture on Twitter of Thorvaldsson's Instagram and he appears to be kicking about in Akranes in Iceland.

Given we have a game on Saturday, it's fair to say he won't be back in time. Wonder what's going on there.

He certainly has Icelandic/ Scandinavian name so maybe a family thing going on.

It's not exactly a secret that he's Icelandic.

He wasn't in the squad on Saturday and remains back in Iceland as of tonight, so fair to say he won't be involved this Saturday either.

He also plays in Connolly's position.

Could be possible that he has an injury that will keep him out of Saturday's game and he's been given permission to visit his family in Iceland?

Could well be. Just a bit odd that nothing was mentioned in regards to it.

I think it's a bit early to suggest that anyone is out because we signed Connelley, as he has yet to kick a ball for us

Yup. It is an odd twist of our support that we moan and moan about having no depth and being down to the bare bones, yet, as soon as we sign anyone it must mean that someone else is out of favour or will throw their toys out the pram and slap in a transfer request.

Injuries, suspensions, loss of form, different tactics for different games.......... we need a squad of around 20 players that are good enough to slot straight in. Must be close to that now?

Wonder if he wouldn’t quite be fit for Saturday, but fit enough for Iceland u21 next week? Instead of pushing him to be ready for 20 mins, spend a bit longer and get 90 mins in his legs.

Some of our fans seem to genuinely believe we should only have 11 players at any one time. It's a real B&W army thing I've noticed.

This does leave us short on squad numbers as well.

Jim last week saying he wanted one more addition to beef the squad out and it looked like he had that in Connolly.

If there is a free wage still there (big if), we should be using it on centre half or full back cover.

If he doesn't want to be here, then he shouldn't be here. It really is as simple as that.

I'd be interested as to why though, not to cast the blame and just out of curiosity. Could just be him being homesick or having family commitments considering it's an Icelandic team the mooted loan is for. I'd be a bit more miffed should it be another UK based team.

It was more the fact it was another wide player being brought in that set the thought process in motion rather than it being an addition numbers wise I think. If it had been a full back no one would have been speculating but we seemed well covered in wide areas. Anyway seems the speculation is well founded now.
