The St. Mirren FC 2023/24 thread

A good signing on paper given he's been a constant at Championship level his entire career, dropped to league one last season and was regular there too before going early doors this season. He's been playing central mid last couple of years primarily and loves a through ball so hopefully brings that creative spark to midfield that we desperately need.

To be fair I think he has been unlucky. Broadfoot obviously came out of nowhere days before the window ended, and we have been extremely unlucky with magennis and Flynn. Assuming those two didn’t get long term injuries with Mcginn hopefully being avail. Again soon Erhahon wouldn’t be near the team.

Why is nothing ever easy for us ☹️

Broadfoot did not come out of nowhere, he and Paul McGinn were told to find another club, 100%

5' 6" according to wiki  - really?
Height clearly not the most important thing with a winger of course; and Goodwin must be convinced that he'll be able to get up to match fitness pretty quickly if we're signing him mid-February.
Or we have got to the desperate stage with regards to his fitness.

Don't think he'll be playing on the wing, I reckon Cammy to right back and he'll play centre mid when ready.

Hamilton getting a doing tonight in a game many fancied them to take something from.

Makes tomorrow absoultely massive for us. With Hearts going to Parkhead, if we can somehow grind a win out at Livi, we'd be in a cracking position.

Hamilton also play hearts at the weekend so tomorrow night and Saturdays games are massive opportunities for us to put a bit of distance between ourselves and the bottom spot.

Time for Goody to role up the sleeves and prove why he is one of the best young managers in the country. He's made a fee mistakes recently but he needs to know the fans are behind him and the team.

Obika needs our support too. How many strikers have we had over the years that are on course for hitting double figures in the top flight? We hounded Higdon and look how good he was.

The rollercoaster ride has begun, time to strap ourselves in [emoji51].

We are 4th best team in the League for having attempts on goal yet the worst at converting those attempts - a measly 14%. Creating chances is not the problem but the pathetic attempts to get them past a keeper is. A decent striker would be well into double figures by now.

And if that had happened he would have been gone in the window. It's nigh on impossible for a team with our resources to unearth a striker who could be in double figures after 20 odd games.

If the last few weeks have told us anything it's that Hearts can't defend for toffee and don't seem to be coping with pressure well. He needs to man up and go for it from the start on Friday. A win would be massive.

Only the the OF and the Dons have had more attempts on goal than us yet we are the lowest scorers in the League. We don't need Messi just someone that can convert more of the numerous chances into goals. And a few more goals could have converted these many draws into a 1 goal victory. The fakes have scored only 4 more goals than us from less chances yet have 8 more points.

I don't think he will he will set up to try not lose which we duley will because I think we are better at going forward than defending.
