Um, I might have missed something along the way but what are Ruthie's credentials on climate change?

Quote

Now she has joined City PR firm Tulchan Communications, to advise some of the biggest players in corporate Britain how to cope with the changing climate, including actual climate change.

Love how she has suddenly found the time away from her family to concentrate on not 1 but two jobs. How any MSP/MP can find time for another job is beyond me. Most people who work hard every week can't be fucked working more hours in another job. Nothing to do with money, yet we have politicians who've got free time coming out their ears.

While I’ve sometimes argued against a blanket ban on MPs/MSPs having second jobs - an example of how it could be counter-productive would be Philippa Whitford standing in to cover NHS shortages of surgeons - an elected politician simultaneously working for a lobbying group is absolutely beyond the pale.

We know fine well how many go into those kind of jobs after leaving parliament, with it being especially prevalent among Tories, but holding both at the same time is such an egregious conflict of interest that it can only be described as corruption. It should so obviously be against the rules that it’s not even up for discussion: she has to resign.

Let us also just take a minute to recall how the media reported that.

Whitford literally saved lives by standing in during a parliamentary recess.

Now, how did the media initially react to the Colonel's new job ?

Its good that the Colonel made the effort from "spending" more time with her family to set up a pr firm a couple of weeks ago [emoji6]

How long until she resigns and then makes out it was a misunderstanding?

They also boast ‘£500 a day’ on the front page, there are consultant locums charging double that easily. A GP locum can get about £650 a day.
The real headline should be ‘MP saves lives at cut price cost to taxpayer’. But that doesnt fit the UK media agenda on Scottish Nationalists.

Ironically, it's often cheaper for Health Boards to employ locums than recruit to substantive posts. Locums purely provide service so boards don't have to provide any non-clinical time, any holiday pay, any employer pension contributions or any sick pay. Can save a lot of money.

It's an award job for her services to the crown. Sadly, she'll walk right back into politics at some point and the gammons here will flock around her again like a transgendered jesus.

Taking no responsibility in her climbdown, as usual.

She and he did not write that; it was almost certainly composed by some lowly-paid staffer and then checked that it was suitably patronising in tone and wholly lacking in contrition.

I look forward to the footage of a Hi-Ab pulling her snout from the trough, accompanied by a delicious sucking sound.
