Brechin City v Raith Rovers - There And Back Again

Recommended Posts

Really just starting this thread before someone else starts it incorrectly in the League One forum.

Confident we've got enough quality to do the business over two legs, but it's all going to come down to getting the right players on the park.

Ending our dismal away run (nine losses on the bounce, joint worst in Europe) on Wednesday night would be a decent start.

Not looking forward to these, as RATM says, our away form is awful. Just hope we go with that same spirit we did today. Very very impressed with Johnny Court

Maybe just start with 10 men, 11 hasn't really been working for us away from home. Court was great today should be starting Wednesday. Our away record is a massive concern and unless we sort it out it could be over after the first game. Hopefully the lads show the same desire they did today in the playoffs and we pull off a result.

We're going to be absolutely knackered. Court was terrific today but I thought he was out on his feet after an hour but somehow finished the game. If we could stop being complete muck away from home now, that'd be a great start.

Just get it back to Stark's. Words can't describe how bad we are away from home. Hope to see similar commitment from the players as we did today, Hughes and indeed Gary Locke would have every right to ask where that effort and passion has been this season.

Hopefully they're up for it in a smaller ground on a tight and bumpy pitch. Draw would be fine got to hope we win by a couple.

Something that is definitely worth considering - we're yet again down to one goalkeeper. It would be the most Raith Rovers of all Raith Rovers things for Brennan to get injured early on. Is there any scope at this stage to get an emergency back-up in?

Somebody hide Skacel's car keys and we should be fine. Today should've been enough to show that we don't need him, Johnson or other Thompson ahead of players willing to run and fight for the team.

That said Bene is murder out on the left and yet somehow still nowhere near as painful to watch as McHattie

Benedictus is our best defender, yet it's hard to make a case for him being in the defence of late. If him being in the team means we need to shoe horn him in at full back, then so be it.

Oh aye no doubt one of our best players this season and last, even out of position still better than McHattie.
