Typical. I'd imagine a few on here would agree with her comments.

Was disgraceful when Boris did it and it's just as ridiculous when Nicola does it.

Imagine if we could actually have sensible politicians that had a clue what they were doing rather than these greedy ego driven career politicians.

In an apparent reference to another referendum campaign, she said the conflict “makes it even more important to engage as passionately and disputatiously as ever in vigorous political debate within and among the world’s democracies”.

Writing in the New Statesman, Ms Sturgeon pledged that an independent Scotland would be “a reliable and dedicated international partner” in taking on Vladimir Puti

She said the Russian invasion had “underlined the importance of independent countries cooperating” as members of organisations like the EU and had “cast a new light on the realities of Brexit."

Despite wanting to scrap Britain’s nuclear deterrent, based at Faslane on the Clyde, she said a separate Scotland would “take its place as a member state in its own right of both the European Union and Nato”.

Ms Sturgeon claimed “our European partners” knew they could rely on an independent Scotland being “a beacon of peace and democracy as together we face the greatest challenge posed to those principles since 1945”.

She added: “An independent Scotland, moreover, will be a reliable and dedicated international partner – which is ever more relevant in today’s world.”

Most misquoted person in history.

Raspers gonna rasp tho.

The Ukraine was considered by many to be "A beacon of peace and democracy"

Where did that get them?

An independent Scotland shouldn't be a beacon of peace and democracy in case it gets invaded?

That's a simultaneously very odd and very shit argument. Not even sure what it's an argument for or against tbh.

It's an argument against being independent but not in the EU.

To make some kind of an analogy between Ukraine's situation and Scotland's quest for Indyref2 is pointless and stupid.

Was it? I mean either those dumb democracy indexes that Freedom House and the like produce have it down as a "flawed democracy" which let's be honest it ultimately is.
