The BBC appears to think its job is to give equal airtime to any opinion, regardless of what that opinion is or where it comes from. The crazier and further right, the better. They pulled the same with Farage back when he appeared to have his own dressing room. Whether it’s intended or not, they are normalising extremist opinions by pretending they just have to give them as much airtime as mainstream views.

According the Beeb, Bannon is entitled to the same airtime and treatment as an elected leader of a British nation; whether this is due to stupidity, a lack of understanding of the concerpt of impartiality, or a deliberate attempt to normalise the far right, I don’t know. The latter is certainly an effect, though.
