How is their season relevant? Its all on the day. There are many ways to lose games and losing to a far superior force who blow you out the water is one of them. This wasnt that though. Aberdeen were the better team for much of the game, but couldnt get it done. You can argue if it was bottle or not, but you cant just say bottling it isnt a possibility because of the season Celtic had.

No, no never mind all that. You must be a "fucking moron" take your sensible posts elsewhere.

Thought you were an Aberdeen fan.

Cost Aberdeen then.

Thought you were a Celtic fan, oh you are

Doesn't matter about chances and opportunities in a one off game the point is Celtic are a completely different class to the rest of the teams in the Scottish Premiership over a full season, unbeaten in domestic competition so had Aberdeen won today it would have been a major shock. There's no pretending regardless how it is painted up, Aberdeen gave an excellent account of themselves and should be given praise rather than criticism over their performance this afternoon.

^ ^ ^ moron found

edit: apologies for that, my reply there completely uncalled for.

The reason I say Aberdeen didn't bottle the game was simply because they burst themselves in the first half trying and they faded as the game went on until they were hanging on at the end. There was no way that Aberdeen were going to keep that going for the whole game, they performed well but as with any team playing Celtic chances need to be taken or they will eventually punish you.

There is a bit of psychology involved, Aberdeen's historical track record vs Celtic is poor and this Celtic team are miles ahead of Aberdeen and that would have a bearing on McInnes's tactics for the game.

The manager clearly bottled it.

He's not doing his future applications for the Sevco job any good if so.

No am no

Second bit [emoji23]

If Aberdeen kept going at it the way they were then lost that wouldn't be bottling it. But they made that change through fear and it bit them on the arse.

The season is irrelevant

It was a fantastic game and another great advert for Scottish football. So many heart in mouth moments and end to end football at its best. Aberdeen still had the best chance in the second half and it was a total mix up that stopped them from taking the lead again. Think Griffiths was great in the last half hour when Celtic finally started turning the screw but I still thought Aberdeen would hold out for extra time as they defended so well.

The last thing anyone wanted was Celtic to be high and dry before half time which was what was expected by many and it's good that we got a proper enthralling cup final.

Playing against superior opposition doesn't rule out any possibility of a bottlejob. It's actually quite a common situation in sport.

The players mostly put in a good performance but missing a gift of a sitter, going uber defensive when the game was fairly even and then losing it in injury time is a textbook bottling.
