New clubs in the East of Scotland

Think the EoS has full discretion on who it accepts and doesn't need to justify its decision. Not having their own ground and identity would be reason enough to turn them down, because other clubs won't want the precedent set in case it happens to them down the road.

Their best shot at progressing further was the ERSJFA getting tier 6 status, but that's clearly not happening now, so odds on they wind up as a forgotten quirky footnote.

Don't the Juniors have the same basic agreement as Bo'ness United in that its the Newtown Park Association that runs the ground, and the teams are just tenants.

Why even bring that up? One of the clubs has been playing there since 1945 and was formed through an amalgamation involving the pre-WW2 senior club that played first division games there against the Old Firm etc in the 1920s, and the other has been there since August 2019. It's absurd to pretend that matters in any way. It is Bo'ness United's ground end of, which is why the junior club took on Bo'ness United branding.

Because you were the one to say that Bo'ness United Juniors don't have their own ground. Yet from the way its been described they have the same relationship with the Park Association as Bo'ness United.

" in 1941, a Trust was set up and Newtown Park Stadium was purchased."

"In 1973, Newtown Park Stadium was passed from the Trust to the stewardship of Bo’ness Town Council until 1975 when local Town Councils were dissolved and Bo’ness became an area of Falkirk District Council. Fearful that the Stadium could be lost to the people of Bo’ness, the Provost and other elected members of the Town Council attended the Court of Session and, with the agreement of Falkirk District Council, made a legal commitment to pass control of Newtown Park Stadium to them (and any future successors) to be held in trust for the People of Bo’ness."

"Newtown Park Association was formed in March 2012 to bring Newtown Park Football Stadium back into the hands of the community of Bo’ness. This was achieved through an asset transfer from Falkirk Council."

Newtown Park has never been owned by Bo'ness United

Nobody said it was. Where are you going with this? Are you seriously arguing that the EoS should accept a second rival Bo'ness United club for next season on that basis?

I'm going nowhere, just clarifying that Newtown Park isn't the posession of the BU's and never has been., therefore the Junior club probably have as much access to it as the Seniors.  So FWF has a point.

^^^Just being argumentative for the sake of it.

Where exactly is the argument in it? One of the reasons you used to dismiss Bo'ness United Juniors in applying was on the basis of not owning their own ground. Something that perhaps the majority of clubs in Scotland don't actually do.

The situation they have isn't in the vein of Alloa/BSC, Kirkintilloch/Cumbernauld, or Benburb/Rossvale. But more to me Falkirk/East Stirlingshire and Clydebank/Yoker. Wasn't there even a joint statement from all the Bo'ness Uniteds when Linlithgow Thistle came into the fold?

Nope but its got nothing to do with their ground

Depends on what the majority of members think. Even if Bo'ness United get promoted to the Lowland League, they would still be playing in the South Region Challenge Cup, Qualifying Cup and potentially Scottish Cup. People might not like the idea of having the real Bo'ness United and a fake Bo'ness United in the same pot.

If the Senior club get promoted to the LL, then if they apply who knows. But they do have a home ground which I guess was the point being made.

Where are you going with your argument? I think anyone with a semblance of sense would agree that there cannot be two teams with the same name in the same league set up. BUT.....you just can’t argue that one of them is out of the reckoning because they don’t have their own ground when that’s equally as true for the other, regardless of how long the original BU’s have been in existence. The evidence has been posted for you to read and digest, you’re choosing not to and it’s absurd to think that evidence doesn’t counter your original ‘argument’.

For the avoidance of doubt, I don’t think the ‘new’ Bo’ness United should be admitted either - but the reasoning will have to be better than them not having their own ground or length of history that the current senior Bo’ness side have.

Havent boness juniors used the senior players in games to give them game time and the senior squad used junior players to play in friendlies?

I'm not sure there is 'no link'. There appears to be a link and for that reason, I cant see them admitted. They appear to be the 2nd side and as such will unlikely be admitted, much like sauchie juniors juniors.

They don't. Tynie is right. Original BU have priority.

^^^^^ loving this use of upward arrows

^^^clearly just being argumentative for the sake of it, so over and out for this thread until there is something sensible to discuss.

Lurker, why is it when someone presents you factual information that completely counters pretty much all of your arguments do you accuse them of being 'argumentative', use these silly little arrow things, then say you are 'signing off' and sulking away in the huff, only to return in a few hours?

We are allowed to hold differing opinions to yours, the world outside your window is one where we are allowed to debate and disagree.

You do realise you started discussing the boness thing dont you?

You really are hard work fella and don’t like it one little bit when your frequently erroneous interpretations of so, so many things are pointed out to you. You taking the huff and being ‘out of this thread’ would be a relief for many - if only it were true. However, it’s been proven not to be on the past occasions when you’ve thrown a similar strop.

The senior side would have priority use anyway, simply as they play in a higher level league, regardless of any other agreement relating to the park. Much like clyde/cumbernauld colts, falkirk/shire etc
