Since Kelty took the first steps towards embracing the pyramid concept.

Clubs have progressed quicker than the overall concept.

Leagues decided in board rooms. Changing rules during the season.

Still no joined up solution that covers all of Scotland.

Hardly a glowing endorsement of the pyramid concept.

Well let's go back to the juniors. Stand in shite facilities . If we were all still juniors we would likely have the same scenario. Juniors was a pyramid within itself just the same.

Rome wasnt built in a day if midland league gets go ahead then we have covered everything

Exactly, I'll be delighted if indeed the ML, NRJFA & NCL come in the pyramid. Obviously the pyramid can still be improved, it's not like I suddenly won't have any criticism anymore at how the pyramid works and further structures in Scottish football. But once everyone is in, it will be easier to make further improvements over time. Look at England, they started their pyramid well over 30 years ago and it's still evolving.

There will still be questions to answer, but we'll be in a much better situation if indeed everyone is in the pyramid next season compared to a few years ago.

Some guys are stuck in the past and cant see beyond the cesspit that was Ra Jooners, time to move on M87. Time to admit your club has been left behind by those clubs that embraced the future in Kelty, the Big Rose and Bo'ness.

No one could have forseen the outside influences that would impact on the pyramid, going forward when the Dundee sides finally fit in under the Highland league there will be a structure in place that will allow any team to progress.

They are summer football, is that right ?

Yes, they have their own amateur leagues that play in the summer. Geography wise it will be very unlikely that either will try to enter a team in the pyramid. Especially in the winter it can at times be very challenging to get to those islands which could potentially see many games postponed (either due to weather or even due to teams simply not being able to travel) and having to be played midweek. That just won't work for them.

Both though have had representation in cups. Mainly NCL, but Shetland did play in one of the North Challenge Cup editions. Beating Fort William 5-0 and then losing 2-6 to Cove Rangers.

I think for both some cup competitions would be more realistic than a league. I'd love to see that, imagine an away day in say Lerwick or Stornoway. I'd definitely not miss that one!

Stick that final nail in the Junior coffin, Kelty have done for them.

Scottish Junior FA Pyramid Statement

The Scottish Junior FA & East Region SJFA have formally submitted our commitment and agreement to the Highland League board. We accept the Highland League's invitation to create a link between the Midlands League and the Highland League. Following an application to the Scottish FA board being ratified at their AGM in June 2021, the aim and expectation would then be for the Midlands League to be established for season 2021-2022 at tier 6 of the Scottish football pyramid.

The Scottish Junior FA and East Region SJFA would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Highland League board members and the Scottish FA pyramid working group for their understanding and help on this matter. We look forward to further developing our relationship.

Mind you Boris is promising a tunnel from Scotland to Northern Ireland so who knows maybe bridges and or tunnels to the isles. [No that won't happen either]

The below email has also been distributed, this one within the EoS:

To all member clubs

cc: Board members, Secretarial officials

The Pyramid Working Group met today at which all parties agreed to the inclusion of three tier 6 Leagues as feeders into the Highland League. The intention is to have this in place in time for the start of season 2021/22 and will mean there are three feeder Leagues for both the SHFL and SLFL.

Although it's very unlikely we will see a Scottish isles team enter the pyramid we have had recent cases in England with Isle Of Man, Guernsey and Jersey Bulls all entering the English pyramid system.

True, but those 3 islands have considerably larger populations than Shetland or the Western Isles.

^^^hopefully proves to be more accurate than similar emails from Tom Johnston and the end of the pyramid saga is really in sight. Time will tell. Would normally ignore "Junior Pub League" but it's actually completely comic that he spins what remains of the east region of the SJFA getting into the north pyramid as the end of the juniors when that's actually the scenario that is most likely to keep the SJFA on life support at this point. The Forfar WE approach of joining the EoS would be the real parallel with Kelty as that would break the link to the SJFA once and for all.

Considering there are 2 different emails basically saying the same thing, one from the EoS and one from the SJFA, that gives some confidence. The SJFA one is accurate as I've just seen that one as well.

It is so far a little one sided. With no comment from the Highland, NCL, and North Region. Especially no mention of the North Region in the SJFA statement. That may well be because those 3 leagues are further down the line and this is just announcing the intention of a Midlands League. Still would have been nice for a joint statement.

You alright mate?

You've been consistently wrong EVERY single step of the way.  Today has yet again shown you've been lying the whole time but I'm sure you'll change your POV to fit the new narrative once more.
