Definitely a bit odd that the east region blazers are suddenly being viewed as the best people to carry things forward by many on here after all the misinformation about the pyramid emanating from that source in earlier seasons.

I know you are a habitual liar but where on earth are you getting that POV from?

Even for you thats a massssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssive stretch.

Well not long for applications now, West Lothian clubs Stoneyburn, Armadale and Harthill have been quiet on where they will be next season since border was put up. Harthill I think will be west, Armadale and Stoneyburn are waiting on deadline day I think.

Armadale will make a full page announcement on going EoS on 1st April, just so folk are unable to tell if it's an April fool or not.

Told Forfar West End are determined to see their application to the East of Scotland league through. Maybe tells you that not all clubs are so certain that the East Region administration are the organisation to take things forward! Agree that they deserve to be commended. Hope some of their fellow Tayside clubs have joined them.

Good to hear about FWE. Will definitely be interesting to see what happens on that over the next week or so. Sensible thing for Tayside clubs to do would be to get EoS applications in even if they are not 100% sure yet so they don't have all their eggs in one basket, if the ML route turns out to not be what they had been hoping for once all the details of the proposals are provided.

Initial rumblings are very underwhelming. Remain as Juniors, remain governed by the same administration, no link up with NRSJFA, no link up with NCL, playing the same teams, win the league no promotion(unless licensed) finish bottom no relegation. Where is the difference for the Tayside clubs?

If we compare the position of the emerging WOSFL this time last year when there was real leadership and almost daily pronouncements of support from clubs who were committing themselves to participate in the new league, the current silence on the embryonic ML does give cause for concern at this critical time. Not even a news update in the Courier.

What with the circumstances being different i'm not  sure why you would expect them to be the same.

The formation of a new league is something you run with and promote. Why the inaction? It does not make sense.

Old men with blazers usually resist change because their top priority is keeping their blazer. How much activity has there been from the north region about becoming a tier 6? At one point last year the NCL were saying it could be implemented for this season if the north region got their act together. Close to a year later....

A new league where? Right now they're negotiating a place in the pyramid with the pyramid leagues and the SFA. Until they have that certainty over where they fit in the pyramid, there is no new league to promote.

The WoSFL started behind the scenes and only got publicity due to the split amongst the West Region.

Apparently inaction isn't the issue! It's a complete lack of information. Clubs being required to vote to join a Midlands League at tier 6 without the details of how it would look or who it would involve (that's to be provided after the vote!). From 0-100mph in a few days sounds like someone has an agenda to push.

So Forfar West End are willing to give up on derby matches, local teams, limited travelling and playing at Tier 6 to have a huge increase in travelling, loss of local matches and play at a lower tier? They must really want away!

So who is representing the Tayside clubs in the mysterious discussions, and isn't he talking to them?

If he isn't, they need to get off their butts and replace him with someone who will.

You think there's a queue of people trying to wrestle power over a league for small clubs in Tayside? I don't think there are many committees turning people away.

I eagerly await the remake of House of Cards but set in the Brechin Vics clubhouse over who gets to be treasurer now that Aul' Stevie's given it up to spend more time with the grandweans

Not convinced that a Midland League etc would happen soon, just think that any ambitious clubs need to see a clear path through to 'senior' football, if needs be. Obviously not everyone can see the rewards over increased costs, and we don't want to lose any clubs. Good luck to clubs trying to progress .

I get the impression that Forfar West End are testing - 1) the robustness of the Tay bridge boundary line, 2) the EOSFL league constitution itself and 3) the overall inclination of the club membership - to establish whether a club north of the Tay can in fact compete in the EOSFL. I see nothing wrong in establishing the position on the ground and the general feelings of the league membership. Perhaps the temperature should have been taken a couple of years ago, but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

It could be that Forfar West End would prefer a future playing at a more competitive level in the EOSFL against sides (and friends) that they previously regularly faced in the East Region.

It could be that they see that the additional travelling is more than adequately compensated by the higher standard of football in the EOSFL and the ability to achieve promotions or relegations according to performances on the field.

It could be that Tier 6 in the ML playing against the same old sides of varying standards is not a particularly attractive proposition (especially in the medium to long term)

It could be that they have no ambition whatsoever to play in the Highland League (or the Lowland League).

Perhaps these are some of the reasons and influences why they "want away".

In a few weeks we should get some feedback on their predicament.

The standard of the top teams at the level FWE would find themselves in the EOSFL are in no way higher than the top teams they would face in a ML.

Probably true but there's many more of them and variety is the spice of life. The massive competitive imbalance between Lochee United and Coupar Angus is also never likely to be a feature of the EoS premier if Forfar WE got accepted and rose to that level.
