New clubs in the East of Scotland

I think "without the prior approval of both leagues" comes into play there. That's one that they might jointly approve; the others, not so much.

That's only with existing members switching as far as I can see. The way it reads to me is that new applications are being directed in either direction based on the county boundary and Harthill Royal are unambiguously in West Lothian in terms of their ground.

Scone Thistle?

Are below the dividing line anyway.

That'll be Bathgate with a team in senior football for the first time since 1932, Bathgate F.C. were also two-time winners of the EOS.

Scone are also north of the Tay, so would be helpful if they clarify more clearly what their boundary is.

The "North of Tay" boundary is clearly the specific 56.4513°N line of latitude that the Highland/Lowland/SPFL playoff rules state. This is the context that has always been used.

f**k sake, I thought we'd been over this many times. Everyone knows that "north of the Tay" means the tier 5 dividing line through the middle of the Tay Road Bridge. Not the actual course of the river.

Of course we have been over this many times. It would have been better if the tweet had clearly stated the Tay Bridge boundary is the only point I was making. Nothing like the imminent danger of actually receiving applications to get a bit of clarity. Assuming this doesn't get retracted in some way the ball is now very much in the Highland League's court.

from the East Of Scotland website

Joint statement East and West of Scotland Leagues

The EoSFL and WoSFL have agreed a boundary for new member applications which is based upon local authority areas. Clubs in Stirling, Falkirk and West Lothian Council areas who wish to join the pyramid will be directed to apply to the EoSFL while clubs in North and South Lanarkshire and East Dunbartonshire will be directed to apply to the WoSFL.

These local authority boundaries will not affect any club already in membership of either League. Once a Club is admitted to a League, any application to switch Leagues will not be entertained except with the prior approval of both Leagues.

Common sense prevails! Who’d have thunk??

To show there’s no hard feelings here’s a welcoming gift for Armadale and Whitburn’s committee mouthpiece from the rest of the East x

The ball is in the Tayside clubs' court, as it always has been

Obviously completely oblivious to what was in the PWG minutes that got leaked on here and what the SFA was saying in them.
