New clubs in the East of Scotland

Recommended Posts

Sorry if this has been discussed - I understand the three conferences and all that - is there going to be promotion/relegation between the EOS and LL at the end of next season and if so how will it be decided?
It's not been officially confirmed yet, but it's likely that the 3 conference champions go into a round robin with the winner taking in the SoS champions for promotion (if both are licensed).

At the risk of both stating the obvious and offending the South teams, is it reasonable going forward not to recognise the added strength in depth that has arrived in the East?

For example, might the future play off in the event of 2 promotion places becoming available not look something like EoS champions go up automatically whilst 2nd plays off against SoS champion?

Or that this season, the 3 Conference winners and South champions go into a semi final and final draw out the hat?

It has been announced officially in the EoS press release, conference champs face off in a round robin to determine the title winner.

Out of curiosity where can this be found? It's not on the website http://www.eosfl.com/  or twitter https://twitter.com/EastScotlandFA/

And the Bonnyrigg updated posted late last night mentions that "Playoffs of conference winners are still to be decided."

Remaining 35 clubs in that article.  Seems like the number of junior clubs leaving/junior clubs remaining changes in every article you read...can't be that hard for them to find out the truth.

That just shows what kind of planet the Juniors live on. They understand promotion/relegation in their own pyramid, but go outside their bubble and they lose the ability to think straight.

To be fair, unless you have been following things on here you might not understand the format and the reasons behind it.

It would be better if the EoS had a decent social media presence so they could post news from the AGM and explain how things will work next season.

This is a fair point by Ginaro.  The ESL have done a wonderful  job in facilitating the expansion of the league over the last few months in a very diplomatic and thoughtful manner.  However the league's social media presence on Twitter and Facebook is currently poor.  In my view the league website also lacks sparkle and needs to be updated/ replaced with a website that is truly worthy of a league that serves many of the best non league clubs in the east of Scotland.

On a positive note I thought that Twitter updates by Haddington Athletic last night were superb. Many thanks.

It's the press release (via e-mail). I get them as an article writer for a couple of websites, thought I'd share to help answer the question. :)

It's staggering how many people with so little clue are in 1. positions of power or profile and 2. are happy to share their absolute ignorance with a wider audience.

Incredible to think that so many guys unable to interpret and understand basic info are making decisions on a weekly basis that dictate the way that clubs operate

Have you ever been actively involved in the game? Not surprising at all that many people on committees would be completely clueless and willing to believe whatever propaganda they are fed by those in authority during league meetings. Tom Johnston probably would have got away with it for many more years if it hadn't been for those meddling kids in Kelty.
