welshbairn
Nearly all the Highland Superleague teams are in Aberdeenshire, so, depending on the structure, I don't think travel for most teams concerned should be a huge issue.

I think that's a bit premature as the LL clubs will be voting on it tomorrow night at the AGM. My gut feeling is you're probably right though.
Cumbo
Is the set up for next season confirmed as north & south leagues?

Looking at it nothing much would change if it goes as low as St. Andrews. 6 clubs would be added: Tayport, Jeanfield, Kinnoull, Scone, Newburgh and St. Andrews. Tayport might be the only one of those that would be attracted by the idea of being in the HL catchment area for the ties it would have with the Dundee clubs. At the same time it might give them more choice in Dundee based players who'd opt for the easier travel South. I can’t see any justification for the EOS to turn down St Andrew’s, Tayport or Newburgh. They are all south of the HL line and the EOS mission statement specifically mentions Fife. Jeanfield, Kinnoull and Scone are trickier to predict. EOS don’t have Perthshire listed in their mission statement but given they have had Threave as members previously and Clydebank mentioned for next year it seems unfair to turn away clubs south of the HL line. As for Luncarty or the Tayside clubs I don’t see them wanting to take any HL zoned clubs without SPFL agreement on changing the boundary first. Luncarty could always relocate to the other side of the village and then they’d be in LL territory!

If you mean the EOS League... there will reportedly be 2 parallel conferences, not 2 regionalised divisions. If you mean the East Juniors... they met on Tuesday night and consolidated their 46 clubs (down from 60 included the anticipated departures of Craigroyston and Dunbar) into a Superleague, North & South districts. In effect everyone was reprieved from Superleague relegation (Sauchie/Jeanfield, Kennoway & Forfar WE)... such clubs as were needed to make Superleague up to its full compliment of 16 were promoted (due to so many Premier clubs leaving for EOSL this meant unexpected promotion for Tayport [4th] & Thornton [7th])... Premier was 'dissolved' with the clubs joining the North and depleted South districts (this meant mid-table Glenrothes, Downfield, St Andrews and Arniston going from regional to district football and the respective Districts champions & runnersup Dundee NE, Luncarty, Pumpherston and Armadale not going the other way)... Lochore were moved from North district to South to balance both at 15 clubs instead of 16 + 14 respectively. However since then Penicuik & Newtongrange (both due for Superleague) and Arniston (due for South district) have also taken to their boats.
FairWeatherFan
All the oranges are the clubs that are meant to be having meetings in the next week. Not sure i've missed someone with how everything has changed in the past 24 hours. Depending on how they swing the EoSFL could have a larger membership than the East Region for 2018-19.

Orange represents teams rumoured to be interested but not confirmed and red represents teams outside the LL catchment area. Everything stands the same as it did 10, 5, 3 years ago, SFA, LL, HL, PWG fully respect and are happy to engage with SJFA in terms of supporting a structure within the pyramid particularly in the West and North but within the existing rules and structure that’s currently in place within the setup. SJFA’s proposal to come in, possibly upset the hard work that’s went into creating the pyramid and keep their association, keep their rules and the way they do things intact, it’s not being entertained and nor should it on that basis. As it stands clubs who want to remain part of the SJFA and regional football can, those that want to be part of the SFA and the pyramid have a choice. That’s probably for the best where clubs have the choice, not everyone will want to be part of the pyramid so they can be catered for also.

Take it there's no further insight into how promotion/relegation will exist between the LL/EoS/SoS in 2018/19. Guess nothing can be set in stone until EoS determines what it's structure is going to be.

stanley
Thanks for the updates kefc. Always interesting to read your posts. Let's hope, for the sake of the pyramid, there will be two relegation spots next year. Good luck to Kelty next season. Hope they make a good impact and are challenging at the top.
