Finally, why don't ALL teams in your pyramid get an SFA Cup entry if they want it? Just add some preliminary rounds like we do in England? Pretty much every club up to non league level 6 in England is in the FA Cup (that's 10 levels all in).

But not level 11, which includes hundreds of clubs. They still draw a line somewhere.

Saughton must be really bad if sharing with a rugby team is the safer option.

If it's good enough for Swansea in the EPL...

Aren't Edinburgh Rugby playing at Myreside just now?

No, they moved back to Murrayfield a couple of months ago. Latest gossip is that they're looking to build something on the back pitches of Murrayfield.

Edinburgh United switched a league game against us to there about 4 or 5 seasons ago, it was on the 3G the other side of the hockey pitch to where the facilities are, players had to get changed and walk across that hockey pitch so surely it cant be there? it's just a 3G cage with a couple of steps down the far side.  There are also two other grass pitches, but again a distance from the facilities and probably wouldn't comply.
It surely has to be the rugby pitch, aren't Edinburgh Rugby moving back to Murrayfield there next season just leaving Boroughmuir?

Think the cage might not actually be too dissimilar to the set up that leith use at peffermill but the mention of facilities and stadium implies it’s the position of the rugby pitch. The Astro on the back of the pitch ( with its own stand) is a 2g hockey pitch so can’t be there

The new manager for next season confirmed on twitter its the main stadium pitch they'll be using. A great move for them.

It's starting to look more likely that we'll end up with Threave being promoted this season.  Not a great outcome for anyone involved as Threave resigned not too long ago from the Lowland League.  One of the problems with having the SoS at tier six.

Far from over and Kelty still have a good chance here but LTHV have beaten them every time so far.

I see there are a couple of people in the Juniors forum talking about a "licence embargo until further notice". Doesn't seem to say any such thing on the SFA licensing site, assume this is not actually true?

It's either invented bollocks for scaremongering, or a misunderstanding of Junior clubs not being able to get licenced outwith the pyramid.

Looking at the photograph attached in the link, that's the rugby side of the facility.

That certainly is the home of Boroughmuir Rugby...and the parking availability is non existent...great facility though.

https://www.thegowfers.com/club-statement-on-juniors-future/

"As a club, the East of Scotland League doesn’t give us anything we don’t have other than a season long fixture list, a fixture list that has still been left with clubs playing twice and three times a week and the two title contenders facing each other in head to head fixtures. "

I'm stunned that Carnoustie Panmure have decided that they arent joining EOS league.:(

They would have been at the wrong side of the Tay given the LL/HL boundary, although back in the day Arbroath reserves played in the EOSL the most Northern team I can think of in the league.

Exactly, Arbroath was late sixties/early seventies wasnt it? EOs league tables page on Brian McColls site hasnt been reuploaded since the site web address was changed so havent been able to see previous league tables for a while.

1969-1971, 1975-1976

EDIT: Even though they down as being a member for 1975-76, they don't appear on that season's league table. So potentially just the 2 seasons 1969-70 & 1970-71.

Aye they were runners up to Cowden reserves in 1969/70.

Heard that it's "several" Fife clubs who have applied, seems to confirm the rumours of the three Juniors (Crossgates, Dundonald, Hill of Beath, + Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts) But looks like Sauchie won't be applying:

they make the point that they can't go for a licence

Which is also fairly defeatist.   If clubs such as Burntisland, Civil Service Strollers, Coldstream, Newton Stewart etc can get Licenced then anyone can.  It might take time, and it will take money, but grant aid is available.  They should be providing cover and decent toilets anyway as a matter of course for a Superleague club.

To be fair, the pies were good.

I think i read that there is £10k available each season for ground improvements for eos teams ???

The Scottish Football Partnership provide upto £10k for EoS clubs, the EoSFL themselves provide upto £3k for ground improvements.
