Clyde stuck with the river and eschewed Cumbernauld. Partick didn't become Maryhill Thistle. Hamilton Academical, Forres Mechanics, Inverurie Loco Works, Wick Academy, Burntisland Shipyard, Dumfries YMCA, etc. etc. have all kept their suffixes.Thirteen SPFL clubs now play closer to the River Clyde or the Firth of Clyde than Clyde:Dumbarton, Morton, St Mirren, Rangers, Partick Thistle, Queen's Park, Celtic, Motherwell, Hamilton Accies, Airdrie, Albion Rovers, plus on the Firth, Ayr and Kilmarnock. 3 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
