Caledonian Braves (previously Edusport Academy)

There was a dozen or more French players that played in the first team last season and there is a section on the website in French.

There was a mixture last season of academy players and Scottish lads. Primarily Scottish players signed for the first team this year but will be no doubt supplemented by the academy players. Would assume the south of Scotland (reserve) team will have more of the french academy lads.

Does it really matter if the players come from France or Bellshill?

This might not be a traditional club, but they should be saluted for the work.

Also it would be good to lose the vaguely racist tone of a couple posters, in regards to France.

I've parked up for tonight's opening home game v Gretna, and about to go for a wander around Strathclyde Park.

First impressions are the stadium is very smart, but the noise from the motorway is absolutley incessant. It is rush hour so that will hopefully be less of a din by kick off.

They have fenced off most of the ground so you will be able to access the standside up to the stand only, and behind half of one goal only. Meaning at least half of the perimeter is out of bounds.

Burger Van parked out front and I can confirm the guy is industriously cleaning it right now.

Floodlights working, PA system working, looks like they're all set to go.

They have put their "Brave" branding all over the place but I found one stray Edusport image in the car park!

Easy cut through from the car park to the Toby Carvery if you like jugs of gravy before the football.

More to the point is this a new club altogether given theyve got rid of the Edusport name ?

Certainly seem to have got rid of the Frenchmen at 1st team level - 100% Scots among the named players in both LL games thus far. Last season was heavily weighted towards Scots anyway but the defence was pretty much French.

Very young team though - only 4 players 23+. David Winters helps raise the average though and I see Simon Mensing was named for the 2nd string.

That must be the new "Caledonian" signings.

"Brave" performance being a man down for 85 minutes.

The poor French who have bankrolled this club have been screwed over.

They can still get a game in the South which to be fair is what platform the club originally launched in.

Where's the progression for the French players though?

They're the ones paying the Caladonian's wages

Looks like a new team altogether and no even a stewards enquiry how they got there.

New name new badge new everything shouldve been made t start again from scratch  :P

If they're good enough, they play. It's not like they are separate teams. Towards the end of last season a few lads from the U20 and amateur side did get a run-out.
